Strange keyboard behaviour

Post by Scooter »

Has anyone else noticed an intermittent problem with typing special characters such as / ? [ ] ' " when creating posts here, but not misbehaving in any other applications?

It seems to happen and then resolve without any apparent rhyme or reason. At first I thought that my keyboard was going screwy (it's a French keyboard that I usually have set to act English), but it seems to fix itself without any intervention by me, so I'm not sure what's going on.

Ok, thanks, it might be a quirk of setting my language as English when using a French keyboard. Doesn't seem to have created an issue anywhere else though.

Funny you should ask.

I am working on an old laptop that has a French keyboard. In case anyone was interested, Esc is Echap.

But I cannot find anything on this keyboard other than the regular stuff. it took me days to find the forward slash.

however these /';.,[] work even if that isn't what the key said it would do.
