I ve had a robin red breast hanging out with me while I ve worked in the garden this week. he or she hasn t seemed scared at all. free water free worms and all the gypsy moth caterpillars it can catch. nice. i wonder if it is one of the pair that nested in our plum tree last year....

yeah epic is like wicked ovah used. it used to be wicked pissah, it was the balls. you say anything too much and it gets wicked old....

I like turnip greens and I am a fair cook, so why can t I cook tasty greens?

and why can t I spell saute? must be the accent mark....

Bitter greens (like turnip) need some liquid to help them cook out some of the bitterness. So you need to braise a bit, then sauté. Try adding some chicken or vegetable broth. And don't forget that hit of vinegar at the end....And bacon. Oh yes, bacon.

I've also tried chocolate covered bacon and IMHO the bacon does not improve on the chocolate--quite the opposite. Not something vile, but not something that I'd try again, although I do like both chocolate and bacon when not in combination with one another.

Something wierd happened on the commute into work today.
For about 10 miles, all three lanes of cars moved at the same pace. Cars to the right of me (I was in the left lane) were next to me the whole time.
A whole block of cars as far as I could see were frozen in their relationship to each other moving down the highway.
Usually there are different speeds and slowdowns in each lane independant of the other lanes speed/slowdowns.
Took me a bit to realize it but it was quite confusing when I finallu did notice it.

....it really annoys me the way meat is so saturated with water these days, it really changes the way you have to cook it. not for the better either. stupid grocery stores....
