There was that time in 1964 . . . oh, but that team moved to Baltimore. Never mind.
Yes and no. The players moved. The team name, colors, records, and history all stayed in Cleveland, and they had new players within a couple of seasons. Unlike the hatchet job done to Baltimore by the NFL and that faux history-less team in Indianapolis.

1st in Central: 1971, 1980, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1989

Them was de days. This year we're on track to equal our worst ever season: the 1999 "Return of the Browns Not Really" year 2-14

Things just have not been good since we tore up the seats in Cleveland Stadium and hugged our Byner goodbye.

Second verse, same as the first:

Nice to see the 'Skins take the division with a winning record...

Looks like we'll be hosting either the Sea Hawks or the Packers next week, (I'd prefer the Packers after what Seattle did to Arizona today, so I'll be rooting for the Vikings in the late game...Had the Sea Hawks lost, I'd have preferred playing The Vikings in the first round, and be rooting for the Packers, but like Mick said, "You can't always get what you want"...)

This hasn't been a stellar season, but they pulled it together at the end, winning five out of their last six and their last four in a row; they're going into the post-season playing the best football they have in a long time...

Not too shabby for a team that was picked almost universally to finish last in the division...

I have no illusions about the 'Skins winning the Super Bowl, (What do you think I am? As delusional as a Trumpanzee? 8-) ) but especially playing at home, I think we've at least got a decent shot at winning next week...

You get Green Bay.  But the question is:
Do you get the real Packers — or do you get whatever that team was that played Minnesota tonight?

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Have you seen the NFC East lately? Every team is likely to be last in the division, and Washington just barely managed to finish over .500.

At least the Iggles finally dumped Chip Kelly.

2015 has totally sucked for Philadelphia sportsball overall, and 2016 isn't looking much better (yet).

Also, my hometown minor-league franchise lost their lease at the stadium, so we won't even have that this summer.

Same ol' Jets. :arg
Put the carrot in front of me and then snatch it away. I am resigned to never seeing the Jets in the Super Bowl in my lifetime again.

But I do like what Bowles has done in his first year.

Why are you people still discussing American Football? (Note: must use the commonly accepted qualifier so it is clear that Football is not being discussed)

The season's over.

There is a Cleveland Browns joke in there, but, like we always say here, why kick 'em when their down.

Maybe this belongs in the "Science & Technology" forum, but...

...maybe not:

The Vikes lead the Sea Hawks 3-0 at the two minute warning of the first half...

It was five below in Minneapolis this morning but by game time it had warmed up to a toasty 2 above...

The temperature has made the football such a brick it's highly unlikely this game is going to see much scoring...

There was a Sea Hawks punt earlier that hit the ground and just stopped dead; not even a single bounce or roll...

There is no joy in The Twin Cities...

The Vikings pull a Redskins, with their field goal kicker (who had earlier in the game kicked three field goals, including a 43 yarder)missing a game winning 27 yard chip shot by a country mile, to give the Sea Hawks a 10-9 win...

So...have the visiting teams ever swept on wild-card weekend? It's at least possible now...

I enjoyed a gritty Steelers/Cinci game for 58 minutes last night - then, suddenly, out of the blue, a Browns game broke out

I watched about 10 minutes of the cincy-pittsburg game, the most I ve watched in two or three years now....

the game has changed. they called a penalty on the defense because Harrison made a "move within 1 yard of the line of scrimmage".

what the hell was that? he didn t even enter the neutral zone.

I stopped watching because of the violence in the game, it started to bother me after all these years.

playing like a bunch of p*******s doesn t make it anymore attractive. I shut it off after that bullcrap penalty call.

it didn t even look like football anymore.

Not before, but now it has happened.

Hey, if they keep it up with only the visiting teams winning it'd be a Superbowl XL rematch, Pittsburgh vs Seattle.
