- Trump seems to have the emotional range of a Power Rangers villain and the social skills of a teenage Minotaur. He looks like a pumpkin having a nervous breakdown, talks like the words are being fired out of his mouth by a tennis ball launcher and has the general manner of an arrogant televangelist suspected of murder by Columbo. His approach to public speaking? “If in doubt, switch to your internal monologue.” His core demographic? Possibly men whose holiday destinations would significantly overlap with a list of missing women. Trump is bringing out people who’ve never voted, people who felt they had no one to speak for them until now, people who throw microwaved beans at the television and people who go shopping in their pyjamas. And who knows, if Trump’s supporters are using their eight-fingered fists to make banners and red hats rather than drunkenly beating their kid into a coma that they won’t let a black doctor treat, maybe that’s a good thing. Trump knows that he appeals to people who are suspicious not just of political elites but everything those elites believe in, including rationality, and when confronted with anything empirical instinctively retreats into unverifiable anecdotes.

People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right. The only difference is, they're wrong.

No, this just means that his kids were too damned lazy to do the right thing. They and a lot of other people.Scooter wrote:You know your campaign is going down the toilet when you are forced to confess that not even your children will be voting for you.
Now if the article had said in so many words that Ivanka and/or Eric *were* registered but had declared for Cruz or Rubio or (even worse) Hillary, THAT would be something worthy of a news article.

-"BB"-
Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?
Re: trump is serious!!!!!
Sounds like a convenient excuse to me - "Sorry Dad, I would have voted for you, but dang, I forgot to register."
I don't know about the son, but Ivanka Trump runs her dad's companies. You're telling me she's that much of a space cadet that she plum forgot to register to vote?

I heard on the news earlier that they are both registered, (registered Democrats) and missed the deadline to change their registration...(NY doesn't let you change it on the day of the vote.)
Given their old man's poor understanding of the various state GOP delegate selection rules, I find this believable...
Here's a real shockaroo:

Given their old man's poor understanding of the various state GOP delegate selection rules, I find this believable...
Here's a real shockaroo:
Even more detail here:Missing from Trump’s list of charitable giving: His own personal cash
Since the first day of his presidential campaign, Donald Trump has said that he gave more than $102 million to charity in the past five years.
To back up that claim, Trump’s campaign compiled a list of his contributions — 4,844 of them, filling 93 pages.
But, in that massive list, one thing was missing.
Not a single one of those donations was actually a personal gift of Trump’s own money.
Instead, according to a Washington Post analysis, many of the gifts that Trump cited to prove his generosity were free rounds of golf, given away by his courses for charity auctions and raffles.
The largest items on the list were not cash gifts but land-conservation agreements to forgo development rights on property Trump owns.
Trump’s campaign also counted a parcel of land that he’d given to New York state — although that was in 2006, not within the past five years.
In addition, many of the gifts on the list came from the charity that bears his name, the Donald J. Trump Foundation, which didn’t receive a personal check from Trump from 2009 through 2014, according to the most recent public tax filings. Its work is largely funded by others, although Trump decides where the gifts go.
Some beneficiaries on the list are not charities at all: They included clients, other businesses and tennis superstar Serena Williams.
This list produced by Trump’s campaign — which has not been reported in detail before — provides an unusually broad portrait of Trump’s giving, and his approach to philanthropy in general.
It reveals how Trump has demonstrated less of the soaring, world-changing ambitions in his philanthropy than many other billionaires. Instead, his giving appears narrowly tied to his business and, now, his political interests.![]()
His foundation, for example, frequently gave money to groups that paid to use Trump’s facilities, and it donated to conservatives who could help promote Trump’s rise in the Republican Party. The foundation’s second-biggest donation described on the campaign’s list went to the charity of a man who had settled a lawsuit with one of Trump’s golf courses after being denied a hole-in-one prize.

Re: trump is serious!!!!!
jim, why do I suspect that you already know that trump s kids were unaffiliated, not democrats?
I also suspect that you are well aware that trump has a seemingly well deserved reputation for quite a lot of anonymous charitable giving.
all those thousands of employees and ex employees aren t exactly lining up to say that he was horrible either, are they?
I m sure that Hillary and/or Soros and company will line up a few well paid disgruntled folks for the General, but any genuine ones would have already surfaced.
the parties are on the verges of their demise because of such blatant dishonesty.
your collective disdain for the little People has become obvious.
maybe Facebook can save you. you and the Zuck can create your own little fantasy world.

We'll see how long it takes wes to figure out how completely nonsensical that statement is.wesw wrote:I also suspect that you are well aware that trump has a seemingly well deserved reputation for quite a lot of anonymous charitable giving.
It ranks right up there with our former Conservative Minister of Public Safety who said we needed to build more prisons to house all of the perpetrators of unreported crime.

Actually wes, at the time I posted that, I was relying on a report I read that said they were registered as Democrats. Apparently that was erroneous, so fine, I'll concede I was wrong; they were registered as unaffiliated...jim, why do I suspect that you already know that trump s kids were unaffiliated, not democrats?
I'm not sure why it's "well deserved", but there's an easy way to clear this up....I also suspect that you are well aware that trump has a seemingly well deserved reputation for quite a lot of anonymous charitable giving.
Trumpty can release his tax returns, and we can find out just what a generous Daddy Warbucks he's been...(and to whom...)
Probably afraid of being driven completely into ruin by having to fight his lawsuits...all those thousands of employees and ex employees aren t exactly lining up to say that he was horrible either, are they?
You and your fellow Trumpanzees have already cornered the market on that one...create your own little fantasy world.
ETA:
I know I'm going to be sorry I asked this....
But just WTF is that supposed to mean?I m sure that Hillary and/or Soros and company will line up a few well paid disgruntled folks for the General, but any genuine ones would have already surfaced.

Re: trump is serious!!!!!
I see Drumpf's latest riff is a whine-a-thon about how "unfair" and "disgusting" and "rigged" and "corrupt" the delegate selection rules are...
I didn't see him whining about that when he won 100% of Florida's delegates with less than 50% of the vote...
Or the 54 out of 69 he got with only 38% in Illinois, or the 50 out of 50 he got with 32% of the vote in South Carolina, or anywhere else he was awarded a lopsided number of delegates compared to his popular vote...
Oh no, in those states, the rules were just fine...
It's only when Trump loses that the rules are "unfair" "disgusting" "rigged" or "corrupt"...
To date Trump has only won about 37% of the popular votes cast by Republicans in primaries and caucuses:
Trump: 8,256,309
Total: 22,307,661
All of the numbers in this post can be verified here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Results_o ... ries,_2016
In other words, 14 million more people have voted for someone other than for him, but he thinks he should be the presumptive nominee anyway...
He wants to disenfranchise all those voters and stop their votes from counting....
He wants to completely throw out "majority rule"...
Who is it again who wants to "rig" the system?

Re: trump is serious!!!!!
hey, you picked your allies......
I know that soros is with Bernie right now, but I m sure that he will get on board with you and dirty hill soon...
anyway, I have never claimed any charitable contributions on my tax returns, but I ve given them nonetheless....
I even donated to the election fund for many years....
it is obvious that your dive into trump s charitable donations was as shallow as your dive into his kids voter registrations...
why dive so shallowly? afraid of breaking your neck on the rock bottom truth?
I wouldn t worry..., yer gonna break it anyway if you twist it like you have been twisting the truth....
maybe Cruz is your guy after all....

Yeah, you can see how poor my research into that one was...it is obvious that your dive into trump s charitable donations was as shallow as your dive into his kids voter registrations...
All taken from an in-depth Washington Post analysis of the documents that Drumpf himself released to back up his braggartly claim:
So he brags about how much he's given to charity, and then when the information he releases to prove this shows exactly the opposite, your argument is that he's actually a modest fellow, who doesn't want anyone to know how generous he is?Since the first day of his presidential campaign, Donald Trump has said that he gave more than $102 million to charity in the past five years.

That's a good one...

Re: trump is serious!!!!!
Someone who doesn't earn enough to bother taking itemized deductions wouldn't have a need to, would they? But someone who earns as much as Trump says he does would be stupid not to claim the hundreds of millions in charitable contributions he purports to make.wesw wrote:I have never claimed any charitable contributions on my tax returns, but I ve given them nonetheless....

Going back to the list of donations — a value of $1720.00 for a round (18 holes) of golf?? What else do you get for that sort of money, a sleeve of solid gold golf balls too?
I golf too (well, I carry some clubs and hack around a bit) — but there is no way I would pay that sort of money to do anything (or anyone). Sound like Trump or his minions may have over-valued their donations just a little bit...
OTOH I suppose that it is a private club and there is not normally any provision for a non-member to play at any cost so I guess if they wanted to say that a round of golf was worth $10K, in the absence of a posted price for the round they are entirely within their legal right to do so.
