As White House czar overseeing health care reform during her husband’s presidency and then as President Barack Obama’s secretary of state, Hillary Clinton gained a reputation as a dry policy wonk.
Now as she seeks to become leader of the free world in her own right, the likely Democratic nominee could acquire a quite different tag - America’s first ET (extra terrestrial) president.
Mrs Clinton has won an unlikely following among UFO enthusiasts after vowing to open the files on Area 51, a secretive United States airforce base rumoured to be used for developing stealth military technology but also long subject to conspiracy theories that it is the site of alien encounters.
“I want to open the files as much as we can,” Mrs Clinton said in a recent radio interview, when asked if she believed in UFOs.
“I want to see what the information shows,” she said. “There’s enough stories out there that I don’t think everybody is just sitting in their kitchen making them up.”
It was the latest in a series of comments she has made about the possibility of life beyond Earth and her determination to investigate if elected to the White House.
Asked by a New Hampshire newspaper in January if Earth had already been visited by aliens, she answered: “I think we may have been. We don’t know for sure.”
Bill Clinton told Jimmy Kimmel, the television chat show host, in 2014 that he had examined the Area 51 files while he was president and found “there are no aliens there”.
In an appearance on the same show recently, Mrs Clinton declared: “I’m going to do it again.”
She then corrected Kimmel for using the term UFO - unidentified flying object - saying: “There’s a new name. It’s unexplained aerial phenomenon.” That pleased enthusiasts, who saw it as evidence that their beliefs were gaining new credibility.
Mrs Clinton’s interest in the subject has been fueled by John Podesta, her campaign chairman and a former of White House chief of staff during her husband’s administration as well as a special counsel to Mr Obama.
Mr Podesta is a fan of the X-Files, a popular 1990s television science fiction drama, and ran a fan club for the show when he worked for Mr Clinton, even staging an X-Files-themed 50th birthday party in the White House, attended by the then president and first lady.
He has pledged to get the US government to open the files on possible alien existence, tweeting that failure to do so was one of his biggest failures while working under Mr Obama.
“The US government could do a much better job in answering the quite legitimate questions that people have about what's going on with unidentified aerial phenomena,,” Mr Podesta told CNN.

plausible deniabilityhe had examined the Area 51 files while he was president and found “there are no aliens there”.

But since it is Bill, it depends on what you mean by "aliens"; bodies may not count nor would any alien spacecraft (or maybe not even non-humanoid aliens). After all, he "did not have sexual relations with that woman."

And "aliens" has been changed to "day laborers".

Oh no! If Trump is elected and gets to look in there and finds aliens (shock horror) can you imagine the wall he's gonna build?
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

And he'll make the aliens pay for it.

Another reason for not voting for the beast.
