Except that he stand up for the rich and powerful AGAINST the poor and weak, pretty typical GOP Republican in that respect.

And he never takes any risks himself if it is just to help someone else, also pretty typical GOP Republican in that respect too.

Fixed it for you....

Actually, Trump has more in common with this Billy than with the movie character ...

Aw geez, Billy Jack...

What a wretched movie that was...

I found "the kids" in that film so annoying and insipid that in the final scene I was rooting for the army...

"Hey! That one's getting away!" 8-)

I can't believe some of the people wes has tried to compare Drumpf to... :loon :loon :loon

If he wants a film character for comparison, I would suggest Godzilla or maybe The Creature From The Black Lagoon...

Show me proof.  Real, honest, serious proof that either he or his family have been at "great personal and financial risk".  Mindless blatherings by internet trolls saying "someone should shoot the so-and-so" need not apply; I'm talking about actual, credible attempts or threats that were thwarted as a result of actions taken by the Secret Service or other police forces.
(edited to add — I also do not consider the possibility that there might be protestors or hecklers in an audience to be "great personal risk" either)

As for "financial risk", I suggest you read this article from NBCNews which notes that while The Donald has spent less than a half-million dollars ($317 thousand) of his own money, he has made LOANS to his campaign totaling something like $35 MILLION dollars; loans for which he can be (legally) reimbursed out of future campaign contributions.  Sure, he claims (right now) that he is not going to seek repayment of these loans, but I could throw the Trump Tower — with one hand — further than I would trust any words that come out of Trump's mouth.

And most of the stuff he's spent the money on, like those red hats?  Purchased from a company owned by a board member of Mr. Trump's son's charitable foundation.  Operating costs for Trump Force One and the whirlybird?  Billed by and payable to Trump Industries.  Extra manpower pulled from Trump Industries personnel in order to work on the campaign?  What do you think?  All the while exposing his "brand" to a new crop of lunkheads; "The Art of the Deal", which he wrote almost 30 years ago back in 1987, is back on the best-seller list after how many years of consignment to the 'remainder' bins.

"The Hairpiece That Walks Like A Man" claims that, if elected, he will run the country just like a business and even turn a profit.  I don't know about the country, but it sure looks like he's going to make a pretty penny on his campaign.

financial risk
What total bullshit... :loon (this is a really good example of the sort of fantasy nonsense I'm not having to read in large quantities)

First of all, contrary to his lies, Trump hasn't actually spent one penny on his campaign. All he's done is lend money to his campaign that he fully expects to get back now that contrary to what he said he would do, he is raising money from big donors...(I guess that means they'll own him now just like he claimed was the case with all his opponents)

On top of that, if he loses (please God) he's going to make a yooge amount of money off this campaign, selling a ghost written book, and in personal appearance fees...

The one and only thing Trump really knows how to do is merchandise himself...

This campaign is a profit making venture for him, no doubt about it....

This isn't a risk for him, it's a lark...

I saw something amusing earlier this evening...

Apparently Trump did an interview with that real journalistic heavy weight, Pierce Moron...

In the clip I saw , Pierce is informing Trump that the new Muslim mayor of London has called him "ignorant"...

Trump replies, "yeah, well let's have an IQ test"....

Thus demonstrating that he is so ignorant that he doesn't even know what the word ignorant means...

I suspect this will be lost on the Trumpanzees...

The only actual risk Trump is facing is the possibility he might be elected. And that's really more of a risk for the rest of us.

Donald Trump to meet with Henry Kissinger: Washington Post

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is scheduled to meet on Wednesday with former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, the Washington Post reported on Monday, citing three people close to Trump.

The meeting in New York comes after weeks of telephone conversations between Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, and Kissinger, who was a top adviser to Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford, the Post said.

Last week, Trump met with former Secretary of State James Baker, who told a congressional hearing on the same day as the meeting that Trump's foreign policy proposals would make the world a less stable place.

Trump has been criticized for suggesting the United States should rethink the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and that Japan and South Korea should consider getting nuclear weapons to defend themselves.
http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-e ... SKCN0Y803S

The good news is that when Trump meets with Kissinger, there will be 300 IQ points in the room...

The bad news is that 220 of them will belong to Kissinger...

And in other Drumpf News:
Boston men jailed for Trump-inspired hate crime attack

Two Boston brothers accused of urinating on and beating a homeless Mexican man and telling police "Donald Trump was right: All these illegals need to be deported," were sentenced to prison on Monday, prosecutors said.

Scott Leader, 38, and Steve Leader, 30, had previously pleaded guilty to indictments charging them with causing bodily injury while committing a civil rights violation, as well as assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, among other charges.

Scott Leader was sentenced to three years in prison and Steve Leader was sentenced to 1-1/2 years, the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office said in a statement. The pair will also be on probation for three years after their prison sentences end.

The Leaders were arrested on Aug. 19 on suspicion of beating Rodriguez, then 58, as he slept in a subway station. The men told police they targeted their victim because they believed he was an illegal immigrant.

The victim, Guillermo Rodriguez, said in a statement that he was in fact a permanent resident.

"I came to this country many years ago and worked hard in the farm fields to provide produce to people here. I actually became a permanent resident of this country years ago, although if I had been undocumented I still would not have deserved to be beaten this way," Rodriguez said in a prepared statement read by Assistant District Attorney Nicole Rimar before the sentencing.

The pair punched and kicked Rodriguez, and one of the men repeatedly struck him with a metal pole, before the two walked off laughing, prosecutors said.

According to a police report, they told officers, "Donald Trump was right: All these illegals need to be deported."

Prosecutors said Scott Leader told arresting officers that he believed the attack was justified because the victim was homeless and Hispanic.
The pair also allegedly threatened police officers while in custody.

Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee for the U.S. presidential race, has been vocal on immigration, proposing to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border and promising, if elected, to deport the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants already in the United States.

Trump, a real estate developer and reality television personality, initially described the attack as an outcome of passionate views on immigration but later called it "terrible." [That means he first went with his gut reaction, but changed it when persuaded to do so by his advisers]

Lawyers for the two men could not be reached for immediate comment on Monday night.

Daniel Boone, great comparison. Slaughtered a bunch of Indians, failed land speculator, welshed on his debts and absconded to Spanish territory.

Trump, a real estate developer and reality television personality,
Why don't the media refer to him as "Trump, a failed casino operator and now a defendant in a $40 million fraud case over his defunct 'Trump University'"? Or "Trump, failed airline operator who has repeatedly stiffed investors, creditors and employees through bankruptcy filings"? Or "Trump, whose claims to great wealth have been challenged by investigative journalists and who refuses to disclose his tax returns"?

Or they could just stick with "Trump, long known as a short-fingered vulgarian."

Show me proof.  Real, honest, serious proof that either he or his family have been at "great personal and financial risk".
:offs:   I challenged wesw, who appears to feel that he is Trump's "Sir Lancelot" doing battle against all on this board in the name of his liege lord, to give me proof of his (wesw's, not Trump's) latest harebrained statement.
Instead, I got "Sir Mix-A-Lot" and two inane and irrelevant music videos. :shrug  Silly me, I guess, for expecting anything different.
And then he throws up a post with some links from third-rate sources about BILL Clinton (who, last time I checked, was not running for anything) and something that allegedly happened how many years ago?  So now we are holding a candidate accountable for the people that HER HUSBAND may-or-may-not have kept company with more than a decade ago?

Jesus God Almighty, wesw, WTF is wrong with you?  Even R. Lee Ermey would be hard-pressed to find suitable words to describe just how messed up you are.   :arg
