INAUGURATION DAY
Re: INAUGURATION DAY
Stop with your alternative facts. No one called you a Nazi, wes. No one.

Re: INAUGURATION DAY
Of course the fact is, (the actual fact, not the alternative fact) the one who's been likening people to Nazis is Trump...

Re: INAUGURATION DAY
you said trump was hitler, pence was Goebbels.....
so what does that make me?
I support them.
don t bullshit me, lawyer. speak straight for a change.
and jim, c mon man, trump made one crack, and we all know that he meant clapper and Comrade Brennan.... and I agree.
and so apparently does the CIA
did any of you actually watch the speaach at CIA or just clips?
he was a resounding success there
they were laughing and applauding and giving ovations
cnn and msnbc et al are propaganda outlets, nothing more.
that is the sad part.
you all don t even listen to the man and because of that you are guided like sheep to the desired opinion
they didn t clap for everything either, they didn t clap when he talked about taking the oil, he had them laughing after an awkward moment tho...
and they didn t clap when he talked about killing Islamic terrorists, but that isn t a clapping type of topic....
you really should listen for yourselves....
you didn t even watch the inauguration stuff
you are just too hardheaded

Re: INAUGURATION DAY
You have no sense of imagination, wesw. I can think of a lot worse things than that, any one of which would rightfully earn me a ban from this BBS — or at least an enforced and lengthy time-out — as well as the righteous indignation and out-right anger of all netizens world-wide.wesw wrote:I can tell you that that is the worst thing that you can say about someone that I can think of.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?
Re: INAUGURATION DAY
Wes we don't think you're a nazi we think you're an idiot.
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.
Re: INAUGURATION DAY
Wes is clearly very frustrated (as is his hero) that people aren't all either just cheering Trump or Shutting Up And Going Away, but the attitude expressed in that comment of his I quoted bespeaks a fundamental misunderstanding of how the American political system works in two important ways:there is an election in two years, you can change the world in two short years.
why tear it to pieces first?
First, public influence in the policy making process is not limited to just showing up to vote in our biennial elections. It is ongoing; you can betcher boots that Trump will be doing everything he can to mobilize his supporters to pressure Congress on his legislative initiatives and nominees for various positions, and it is entirely appropriate that others organize and do the same.
Second, if you want to have real effect on the outcomes of those elections in two years, you sure as hell don't wait until election day. (I can guarantee you that the Tea Party types didn't.) There's a lot of unsexy nitty gritty ground work that goes into creating the structute for effecting elections, from creating effective organizing networks, to recruiting serious candidates, to identifying, communicating with, and motivating, like-minded people to become involved.
That all takes time, commitment and hard work. It sure as hell doesn't happen by taking a nap between election cycles and then assuming that things are magically going to go your way on election day.

Re: INAUGURATION DAY
LJ - exactly. The work never stops. Ever. It's simple that the goals or the timeline change.

Wow, that's over estimating his intelligence, it's probably the biggest compliment wes has had in his life!!!Crackpot wrote:Wes we don't think you're a nazi we think you're an idiot.

Re: INAUGURATION DAY
Arrested Inauguration Day protestors to be charged with "Felony Rioting"
(From CBS News) — Most of the approximately 230 protesters arrested on Inauguration Day will be charged with felony rioting, federal prosecutors said. The U.S. Attorney’s Office said the offense is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. The office said most of those arrested will be released without having to post bail and must return to court in February.

Care to guess the number of rioters arrested in Ferguson or Milwaukee this past summer, or what they were charged with? Hint .... it wasn't anywhere near this many, and you can bet your bottom dollar that it wasn't a federal felony charge either.
Why do I feel that I am watching a real-life performance of "V for Vendetta"?
So there you go, wes — Trump is not Hitler; he's High Chancellor Adam Sutler!

"This violent and unparalleled assault on our security will not go undefended... or unpunished. Our enemy is an insidious one, seeking to divide us and destroy the very foundation of our great nation. Tonight, we must remain steadfast. We must remain determined. But most of all, we must remain united. Those caught tonight in violation of curfew will be considered in league with our enemy and prosecuted as a terrorist without leniency or exception. Tonight, I give you my most solemn vow: that justice will be swift, it will be righteous, and it will be without mercy."

That was 15 minutes of my life that I'll never get back.
I'm interested to hear why you thought it such a resounding success.
Can you identify three key messages that Trump wanted that audience to take away from his speech, i.e. was it worth the drive to Langley?
After which I will identify the topics he spent the most time on, and wellk see how well our lists match up.our likses o

Re: INAUGURATION DAY
well, I didn t watch what you posted as I have already watched it live...., but I ll assume it is accurate with accurate volume.... (I ll check later)
so..., the reason why I considered it a success...
...it was the reception he got and the reaction of the crowd of agents.
he was well received and roundly applauded from where I sat.
my understanding is that brennan was fairly well despised as "comrade brennan" within the agency....
I know enough about clapper from the public record to despise him in confidence.
in the room? the laughter was more telling than even the applause....
let s rock...... it said...,
that s how I saw it.

....and scooter. thank you for taking the time to watch, I appreciate it.
Re: INAUGURATION DAY
I don't read wesw/Joe's posts, but since he was quoted, I'll respond with this: journalists who attended have asserted that none of the senior officials in attendance were laughing or applauding, but rather sitting stoically as one would expect them to considering their nonpartisan positions. Clearly at least one senior official was dismayed that Trump gave such a divisive and self-congratulatory speech in front of a sacred memorial to fallen public sevants and has said so openly - but he has that liberty, being on the way out.
Anyway who doesn't realize that line workers will often politely laugh or applaud the new boss's BS despite their true feelings doesn't know human nature all that well.

Re: INAUGURATION DAY
What I take away from this speech is that Trump wants us to know that he has been on Time Magazine more than anyone will ever be, God stopped the rain for his inauguration speech and the Press is dishonest. Also, he wants us to know that he is smart.Scooter wrote:Can you identify three key messages that Trump wanted that audience to take away from his speech, i.e. was it worth the drive to Langley?
Re: INAUGURATION DAY
He also claimed that his cabinet has a higher IQ than any presidential cabinet in history! Also, he wants us to know that he is smart.
Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

Re: INAUGURATION DAY
Come on folks, didn't you hear Our President's first speech--he has returned power to the people. All those loyal Americans marching in Boston, Washington, and all the other great centers of American Exceptionalism the next day were just demonstrating and exercising their returned power. And all those great urban population centers of all that made America great now have that greatness once again. No longer the crime and drugs and gangs -- that's all gone, by presidential decree. This is all proven by alternative facts. America is great again.
(But I do wish the president would explain where our borders went before they returned.)
