Not Chariots of Fire -- the same physical activity is involved but not nearly as uplifting, and actually not uplifting at all.

Hold that homophone, ex-khobar, and I'll get back to you. :)

Well, then, it must be this one:

That semi-autobiographical story is very close Datsun, but remember this one is not made in the U.S.

And RT, you are on the right trail picking from the BFI Top 100, but it's one of the other 99.

Another quote:

B: So, uh, how do you come to be here?

C: [puzzled] I got sent, didn't I?

B: [chuckles] Yes, I know you got sent, but why?

C: I got caught. Didn't run fast enough!

Meade, your subtle message to me is not the right answer and not very nice! 8-)

eta: for some reason, the image did not appear on my screen but when I posted it was there, so I edited my response. This has been happening on both of my computers so a board gremlin is having fun at my expense.

Okay, I've had this one since that quote, (and obviously none of our stand-up comedian wannabes are going to take it... )

Okay, I think this is an hilarious movie...(your mileage may differ; I can't believe what a crappy IMDB rating it has)
I hope they have cable. I can't watch regular TV without drugs.
I know your sort. You're a malcontent, a misfit, someone who's never achieved shit in his life. Takes one to know one.
Two very well known performers in the starring roles...

Mathau was hilarious, Ackroyd was great, hell even Charles Grodin managed to be funny...

And it rates a lousy 5.7 on IMDB :shrug

Some people just don't appreciate quality comedy...

The pacing was a little uneven and Donna Dixon while easy on the eyes wasn’t that good.

Now I had a movie idea not to long ago if I can only remember what it was.
