I am truly sorry that happened to you. I can empathize with you. As a child I suffered such feeling helplessness and vulnerability. There is nothing worse than those feeling. Death is better that is why I have such a hatred for bullies and thugs. I have no sympathy for a dead bully.

What do you mean the creature has a right to defend itself? Greasy has been the aggressor from the very beginning and still is and if you are honest you will admit it. I didn’t start the fire.

I expected to be placed in an air force combat position such as security police, forward air control, pararescue or E.O.D. I would have liked dog handler. I had heard about the dog Nemo and was highly impressed. “SFB” is sad I didn’t end up in E.O.D.

Re: And Kennedy decides to fuck us all
Looks like the Feds aren't wasting any time getting started:
https://www.businessinsider.com/fbi-age ... ord-2018-9FBI agents reportedly sought interviews with one of Brett Kavanaugh's accusers 'as early as' Friday night
FBI agents were homing in on a potential witness to interview on Friday night, shortly after President Donald Trump authorized the agency to conduct a supplemental background check on Judge Brett Kavanaugh, Trump's nominee for the Supreme Court, sources in a Los Angeles Times report published Friday.
FBI agents reportedly aimed to schedule an interview with one of the two additional women who came forward with their own accusations of sexual misconduct involving Kavanaugh. Christine Blasey Ford, a California-based professor who alleged Kavanaugh was "stumbling drunk" when he sexually assaulted her during a small party in the 1980s, was the first accuser who was publicly identified.
Following the publication of Ford's account in a Washington Post report on September 16, Deborah Ramirez, a fellow Yale classmate, and Julie Swetnick, a woman who claimed to have witnessed Kavanaugh display "abusive and physically aggressive behavior toward girls," came forward with their own reports about Kavanaugh.
It was unclear if the woman the FBI reportedly took interest in on Friday was either Ramirez and Swetnick — the LA Times report did not reveal the woman's identity.

And Kennedy decides to fuck us all
Thanks, LJ, for posting this. I just sent the link to my daughter and hope it will be yet another defining moment as to where we find ourselves as a nation -- divided as we are.Lord Jim wrote:BSG, I don't know if you saw this commentary by CNN's Brooke Baldwin:...

I will give it a try; of course, I retain the right to respond in kind to any provocation that it might make. When I feel the urge, I will try to restrict dumps on greasy to the other thread.BoSoxGal wrote:Thank you, LJ.
I don’t expect to prevail on liberty’s good character to end this line of discussion - so I’m going to kindly request that Scooter will.
Please understand that for me at least, this thread is a huge trigger, as I am myself a survivor of sexual assault who has also vicariously experienced the trauma of many dozens of victims with whom I have worked over the years.
This thread about the Kavanaugh nomination has become a discussion about how sexual assault victims should be treated, and how those accused should be held to account. These are difficult topics on their own, and for victims it is often painful to entertain the views of others on these subjects - especially others who may be insensitive via lack of personal experience or simple contempt for the topic and the victims.
I’m guessing that there are other survivors reading and/or posting here, so I speak for them in asking that we keep this thread respectful as relates to these topics. It’s not a place to be discussing sex acts in joking fashion diminishing women, or even in an argument defending individual sex practices in graphic fashion to disturb a known homophobe.
I very much respect that you are entitled to defend yourself Scooter, but I guess I’m asking you out of respect for the pain this discussion brings up for me (if nobody else) that you ignore liberty here and engage on the topic with him elsewhere, as necessary.

Well now here's a straight up shock...
Looks like wes got it exactly backwards; turns out that the more of the hearing people watched, the more likely they were to believe Ford:
https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/ka ... 5759659b5dAmericans said, 41 to 30 percent, that they believed Ford was telling the truth; they were split, 35 percent to 38 percent on whether Kavanaugh was similarly honest. (Those who reported having personally watched at least some of the hearings ― a majority of the country ― said, 52 to 36, that they believed Blasey. They were split 44 to 46 on whether they believed Kavanaugh.)
These numbers show that a percentage believed both of them were telling the truth, which at first may seem contradictory. However, if you believed one of these two things, then you could easily conclude they were both being truthful:
1. Ford sincerely believes that it was Kavanaugh who assaulted her, but she is mistaken. After all these years she's having a false memory about the identity of her accuser.
2. Kavanaugh sincerely believes he didn't do it, but he is mistaken, because he was experiencing an alcohol induced blackout at the time he carried out the assault and just doesn't remember having done it.

Not sure that Lindsey Graham did Kavanaugh any favours this morning by juxtaposing his name with the words "gang rapist" over and over again.

Re: And Kennedy decides to fuck us all
A sample size of about 600 will be accurate to within plus or minus 3.5% with 95% confidence. This is true whether the size of the population being sampled is 2,000 or 2 trillion. Discounting the validity of polls because you don't understand statistics is the mark of a moron.

Re: And Kennedy decides to fuck us all
The main reason that wes discounts polls is because he doesn't like the results they yield...
Believe you me, if the polls were all showing big support for Kavanaugh, and high approval for Trump, and a huge Red Wave coming this November, he wouldn't be able to get enough of them...

you know that that is not true, jim.
I took the piss out of polls, here, long before trump was a candidate.
I have the same position on polls as I had from day one here.
I have never once cited a poll on this board, unless I was being critical of a poll.
please don t be so loose with the truth.

You should know me well enough by now ol' buddy to know that if you're going to make an assertion like that, you better have your facts straight, or I'll serve it back to you on a plate...

Once again, let's go to the tape:

That was just after a very quick search; I have a distinct recollection of you referencing them on several other occasions (it's true you don't do it a lot, since the polls rarely support your position) if I had more time I'm sure I could find them...
But since you said "never once" a single example is good enough to render your claim fake news...

Apparently wesw, and Brett Kavanaugh, don't recall prior events with the same self-righteous conviction.
Bigly sad.
