Those hats POTUS signed during that two hour photo-op, looked to me to have just been removed from a shipping box, the way they were all folded. So I thinks some political operative that came with the president passed them out at the event. The great reveal of the seal team, I blame that on the Padre. That act reduced my respect for military chaplains.
I would not cross the street to speak to POTUS unless I knew it included an opportunity to spit in his face. But I too have one of those hats. I think it is an important marker of the times.

Re: And The Wheels Continue To Come Off...
Whether or not Trump is personally responsible for knowingly outing seal team members on this trip, he still bears the overall responsibility. If he did not conduct his Presidency in the haphazard, unprofessional, and reckless way that he does, it most likely would not have happened...
In a normal Presidency, there would have been someone on the trip tasked with making sure that classified information and personnel would not be compromised, and that protocols regarding such were being followed. But the normal Administration processes that would usually exist have, in this Presidency, (as a result of Trump's own behavior, decisions and actions) been rendered so dysfunctional that they have at this point completely broken down...
(Just to give one example, it would have been unthinkable in any previous Administration for a President to be directly releasing video of a meeting like this, as Trump did on Twitter, without it first having been vetted by security professionals to make sure that no classified personnel were compromised.)
And of course as is usually the case when Trump goes on some sojourn where he is supposed to try to behave like a real President, there was not just one disgraceful fiasco; there were multiple disgraceful fiascos...
In addition to outing the seal team and thus compromising their operations and also endangering them and their families, there was also the "Who are you going to believe, me or your lying pay stubs" fantasy yarn he spun to the troops about how the members of the military hadn't received a pay raise "in decades" ( they've received pay raises annually for the past 30 years) and how now (thanks to him of course) they had just received a 10% pay raise (the two annual pay raises the military have received since Trump became President were both under 3%)...
And of course, no Trump visit would be complete without a grossly inappropriate partisan infomercial for his policies...(In this case his wall fetish.)
During the visit like this of a real President, you would expect the whole focus to be on the troops themselves, and their President and Commander-In-Chief would be there to express his respect and appreciation for their service and sacrifices on behalf of himself and a grateful nation...
But of course with this disgraceful, disgusting, faux President, whether he's speaking before troops in the field, or the Star Wall memorializing those in the intelligence services who have fallen serving our country, or even in front of a group of Boy Scouts, it's always all about him...
It's truly puke inducing, and I suppose I should be used to it by now, but I refuse to "get used to it"....
But of all the grotesque things he said and did on this depressing trip, here's the one I find the most revealing:
As he so frequently does, good ol' Joe Scarborough summed up the whole mess quite well:

But of all the grotesque things he said and did on this depressing trip, here's the one I find the most revealing:
https://www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-i ... ns-1272012During President Donald Trump's unannounced visit to troops in Iraq on Wednesday—his first trip to troops deployed to a combat zone since he was elected—he admitted he had been concerned about making the trip.
The president said blacked-out windows inside the plane and unspecified concerns for first lady Melania Trump—who made the trip as well—had left him wary.
“I had concerns about the institution of the presidency," [That's a good one...If the POS really "had concerns about the institution of the presidency" he would resign immediately. Hell, he would have resigned on inauguration day.]Trump said in response to a question about the subject while in Iraq, via a pool report. "Not for myself personally. I had concerns for the first lady, [Yeah right, because you've always shown such great concern for her well being. The one and only thing you were concerned about was your own fat pasty white behind, you lyin' sack o' shit... That's a
X2] I will tell you. But if you would have see what we had to go through in the darkened plane with all window closed with no light anywhere. Pitch black. [So among his many other fears, our President is also afraid of the dark] I’ve been on many airplanes. All types and shapes and sizes.… So did I have a concern? Yes, I had a concern."
Trump had previously come under scrutiny for his decision to eschew visiting troops who were deployed in areas of combat like Iraq or Afghanistan. Last month, a former senior administration official told The Washington Post that Trump had expressed fears over his safety if he traveled to a combat zone.
“He’s never been interested in going,” the official told the Post, citing conversations with the president. “He’s afraid of those situations. He’s afraid people want to kill him.”
As he so frequently does, good ol' Joe Scarborough summed up the whole mess quite well:
