got me a new truck...

What... no carpeting? Here's something you can use to dress up your sow's ear. Hey, all "classic" restorations cost money.

well ray, thanks for trying to be helpful, in your own backhanded way...., the sins of the father, right"

I have explored weathertech floor liners, but the laser measured good stuff is not available for a 1985 crewcab......

....and the link to the floor mats that you posted are just...., well, floormats, so I ll likely pass....

but thanks to everyone who has been nice...., or funny in this thread.

I am a simple man with simple pleasures and a complicated mind.

i have not much hope for us.

god would have been better off raising hogs, i think.....

if we can manage to kill enough of each other and not destroy all life in the process, perhaps we will do better next time.

probably not tho.

anyway, we should put some bonobos and chimps and gorillas in the amazon and hope that they survive the inevitable apocalypse .....

maybe the gorillas will survive in the congo basin either way.

we can only hope.

so right now my ford seems like a good thing...., a simple thing.

of course one good EMP pulse and we are all screwed.....

except for the hillbillies and the savages......

How much more simple than that can you get?

I finally found an image of an 86 truck exactly like mine, except for the paint.

it is rare.

there a re 4x4 s and duallies out there, but a straight 1985 f350 crew cab is a rarity.

mine has had all the grill work bumpers and hood removed blacked out and rei nstalled by me. the rest has a crappy grey primer job that someone else did.

maybe, but I ve driven dual I beam trucks for about 20 yrs and had zero problems with it.

what makes me happy is that the cab supports in front are rust free!!!!!

I have fabricated new cab supports for both of my 75 s......

....no fun, but necessary on most old fords.

Talk about tough... it even fixes its own front end damage.

Mr. Magic Stick wins again.

And it has the quick-changing steering wheel, too! (dark colored, possibly black, at the 4:18 mark, and a completely different style wheel, in blue and with a horn ring, at 7:04)

It's time to take it off of the cinder blocks and move it to the backyard.

yer fuckin killin me, ray, on my truck...

....no drivetrain failures, but I did almost burn the thing to the ground......

...I ve been changing fuel filters regularly, about once a wek....., and don't buy the cheap ones, they all leak at the junction of the body to the screwy thing.....

any way...., improperly istalled the filter, a good one a nd it leaked badly....

.... a short trp to thestore and back home and all the little nooks and crannies between my valve covers and antake manifold had become little gas ponds.....

a few more minutes and it would haved poured over my exhaust manifold, and I would have just had to park it safely and run away to watch it burn......

but, I got licky!

thank god.

Say Ray, is that the Matchbox one?
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts
