If you have trouble remembering the difference between Easter and Passover:

Ah, hossenfeffer. That reminds me of a well known Pocono Mountains denizen from decades ago by the name of "Flat Rabbit Jack." He'd walk the local highways in the morning looking for fresh roadkill rabbits, and he'd take them home and cook them on the barbie. Yum.

I got to have dinner today with my adoptive family - my cousin’s in-laws. It was my first holiday with the family since Thanksgiving 2016, due to always volunteering to work holidays so other caregivers could be with their families. We had an outstanding pagan Easter ham, and they sent me home with enough for dinner tomorrow, too!

Tonight I’m on deathwatch again, with another hospice client. I fully expect that she might pass tonight, as of late I’ve become a bit of an angel of death - I don’t know if I give off a comforting vibe or what, but people keep choosing my shifts on which to die. I feel honored by this, strangely or not.

Hope everyone had a happy Passover and/or Easter!

This year it will be lasagna.

Although there will be some pork in both the sauce and the meat filling, so I'll be there in spirit.

Certain advantages to living long enuff--not fixing anything. We are invited out to my daughter's for the big meal tomorrow.

On our road trip I had opportunity to eat lamb in a nice restaurant with somebody else paying the tab. The host had lamb, but I went for the pork chops. They were good. The host also ordered Calamari appetizer. It was consistent with my previous experiences--batter-fried rubber bands. The crusty coating was good.

If calamari has the texture of rubber bands it’s been over cooked. Same with scallops. I rarely order either out anymore because few kitchens get them right, they are both pricey delicacies and just awful when overdone.
