Thanks everyone for your well wishes and kind words. It does mean a lot.

38 years (1981) TODAY.
Wow!!!!!!. Congratulations on that. My sponsor has 'only' 28 years.
I have to live to 94 to reach 38 (provided I stay sober those coming years). ;)
I hope you fared better than me.
I still have collision on the car ($500 deduct) and it ended up being about $2500. The place that fixed it did a great job and only charged me $85 of my deductable and fully detailed the car (inside and out) when they finished. So other than the inconvenience of getting a rental car (fully paid by insurance) no sweat on my part. The rental (enterprise) picked me up at the car repair shop and they let me leave the rental at the repair place when I was done. They picked it up from there.
So, are you sticking around in here or just bragging about how well you're doing?
I'll try and stop by more often, but I'll stay out of politics. Not into the drama.
And I hope I didn't come off as bragging, just enjoying life as I hope/wish/pray everyone should/can enjoy life.

NYPD Blue....Sipowicz’s struggle with alcoholism
I remember that show and his struggles. Didn't mean much back then, but now.......
My struggles with the disease are pretty much behind me, but must maintain (and grow) my spiritual condition in order to stay sober (aka of sound mind). Part of that is sharing the message of recovery which really is a wonderful thing.
Warm wishes for a lovely holiday season to you & yours!
Same wishes for you and for everyone here. :ok

I'm sure I'm not the only one here who'd appreciate it if you made your occasional visits just a leeeetle more frequent!
I'll try. For a long time I had forgotten all about this place. Don't remember what got me to visit here last week. Might have been as benign as opening my personal Bookmark folder and seeing it. Anyway, back for the second time in a week. wooo hoooo. :nana
Used to get an email once in a while from Gob asking how I am and I would remember to drop in .... or quickly forget to drop in. Either way.... :shrug

Great to hear from you my friend!!
Same here/hear??
Where are you living now Gob? Didn't you go back to the UK? Hows Hen doing? hope you are enjoying each other and the "new" country. You in the part of UK where they have no vowels and all words are a string of un-connected consonant?

Good to hear from you all.
Where's my buddy wesw? Did you fix the o 0 O on your keyboard?
All for now. Going home then up to the lake house. Hope no deer run out while I'm driving. Would not be a problem if they would cross only where the "Deer X-ing" signs were, but they don't pay attention. Bunch of j-walkers they are.

If your computer can correct the o in computer, it has the capacity to correct them all. Tr0ll.

Not to mention the 'o' in 'probably'.
Troll is too nice a word to use, since a troll is just a pain in the ass. wesw is the asshole itself.

Hi again. I'm back in the UK, been here two years nearly. Not living in Wales, I'm in deepest Kernow, a place where "K" has usurped "C"!

Have a look here for some pictures of where I live.

at the risk of further polluting oldrs thread Wes have you ever tried to type "i" or "p" instead of just omitting the "o"
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

94? Something to work for -- if you want it.

Life -- you may have little control of the quantity, but you do control its quality.

One shot.

Serenity.

Great to see you stop by oldr; don't be a stranger :ok

ETA:

Say wes....

How about starting a thread called "wesw's nutcase adventure" to post all your "it's all about me" stuff, rather than dumping it in this thread?

Just a suggestion....

I agree oldr; I hope to hear more from you. The old place hasn't been the same since you left.

Glad to hear you're doing well (and even though I don't think you were bragging, you have good reason to brag). I, like you, am eying retirement, and will probably cut back my workload and ease into it over the next few years. But I'm still having a problem comprehending it--retiring is something old people do, and I'm still in my 20s (at least that's what I think I am).

wesw can post whatever he wants here. I don't own the board and I certainly don't own a thread on the board I don't own.
Besides, it doesn't bother me in the least, but no "o's" makes it hard to read some times. :o

I like that one. I'm going to use it if you don't mind. Sorta like the one I have used, "We are responsible for our own happiness".

Hope everyone had a calm and peaceful Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving (and all holidays) are good and bad.
The good part is, you get to spend time with family.
The bad part is, you get to spend time with family.

Played football with the old high school buddies on thanksgiving morning as we have been doing for the last 46 years. Started as sophmores in high school back in 1973. The only person who has made every "Turkey Bowl" to date was absent this year. I missed one in 1985. My son was about 2 months old and we had some snow and the wife was afraid to drive to her parents house in the snow. No way she was going to be ready in time for me to get her and the newborn to her parents and make the game. So now there is no-one from the crew who has made all 46 games. Supposedly we are going to stop at 50 games, but we'll see. Had a TD, a sack and an interception in this game. Still paying for the activity with aches and pains 5 days later. Don't spring back like we used to.

BigRR
Yeah, we are only as old as we feel. Some days I'm 20 and some days I'm 90.
The old place hasn't been the same since you left.
The only constant in life is change. But I'll try and stop in a little more often, no promises.

Gob, those are some really nice pictures and a beautiful area. :ok

You guys do have a problem with the english language.

And LJ, how you doing? How's the warrior princess and your wife? The daughter must be all grown up and out on her own by now. Threaten any boy friends? Wish them well from me.
Don't remember if I mentioned (and am way to lazy to go look at previous posts) my daughter bought her own house I guess it's 4 years ago. Last year I got the "privilege" (daddy can you help?) of moving her boyfriend in with her. Something wrong with that picture. He's a good guy, but he is "new" car salesman. Works hard and is trying to learn some home maintenance which is a plus in my book.

All for now. I do have to tour around the forum and see what I have missed, maybe some other day. Got some stuff to get done.
Later

There were 14 adults at our TXG table -- ALL registered Democrat voters. Hand to God -- there was not one mention of the Trump word. We all know our mission on November 3rd so there was no need to strategize, nor shit all over the feast that was spread out before us.

Conversely, when I called my FUX News believing, porn star loving POTUS, Hollywood lawyer friend, to wish him a warm and happy TGX, he mentioned the Big Grifter's name at least a dozen times before he got around to wishing me a happy TGX in return. Ignorant and scared -- I believe he sees the writing on the wall.

My whole keyboard board is out. I have to use the on screen keyboard. I don’t like it; it is like learning to type all over again. The wife says you have plenty money buy another one; I say no. I am not going to reward them by buying another computer. As far as know it was as programed to break.
I expected to be placed in an air force combat position such as security police, forward air control, pararescue or E.O.D. I would have liked dog handler. I had heard about the dog Nemo and was highly impressed. “SFB” is sad I didn’t end up in E.O.D.
