I heard there's this thing called 'Global Warming'. It's supposedly something people are concerned about. Are they talking about that on Facebook? If not, they should be. It's gonna be the next big thing.

You always act real phony & cute when you’re around Mom. She sees right through you. That’s why she likes me best.

Mom told me I'll get everything I deserve and you only get what's in the will. Then she patted me on the head and told me I was special.

Why did Fred Flintstone, a guy who operated a bolder moving dinosaur in a rock quarry for a living, always wear a tie?

(No doubt about it; this stay at home thing is creating way too much TV watching time... :? )

Because that used to be the way people dressed in the old days.  Look at some of the pictures of workers constructing the Titanic, banging on rivets while wearing trousers, shirts, vests, tie, and a hat or cap (and I'm not talking hard-hat).

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

On Mr. Flintstone's necktie. My first job where I received a printed paycheck was weekends at a local chain grocery in Kansas City. Pay was $0.45 per hour. I was required to wear a white shirt and tie, and a supplied white apron. I remember when my father could have dressed like Fred--tie and collar, no shirt--because he had some shirts with separate collar.

While I know that the shelter in place/stay at home orders that a lot of us are living under are a pain in the ass in many ways, one thing I've noticed is a definite uptick in Plan B participation... 8-)

Actually, I had a friend who had a classic car (a Healey, I don't know the year) a number of years back. When eh couldn't get a part, there was a shop called Classic Auto which woudl fabricate a part; most of the workers on the machinery were older men who wore white shirts and ties with shop aprons. It was like a different world as then most people in the business world didn't wear ties.

Stolen from a random comment on somebody else's Facebook page:
"The Darwin Awards are going to be really competitive this year."
People who are wrong are just as sure they're right as people who are right. The only difference is, they're wrong.
