Trump for the win in November.

Post by Darren »

I'll flesh this out in more detail later.

The GOP won the two special elections yesterday. One replaced a Democrat.

China is shaping up as an election year punching bag. Stoke that red state patriotism! Wave that flag! Fuck those Chinese!

Russiagate/Obamagate whatever the press terms it can't be ignored once indictments start.

Blue state governors are unknowingly, to be kind, inflicting tremendous economic damage in the guise of protecting people from COVID-19. The nursing home deaths which are a significant percentage of the death toll from state incompetence won't fade away.

Trump used a measured approach to the pandemic as compared to blue state governors who went flank speed into tyrannical edicts. Well Billy you were a naughty boy. Do you prefer writing you won't do it again one hundred times on the blackboard or being skinned alive and set on fire? Oh I forgot. You live in a blue state. No choice for you.

How about a couple trillion dollars for infrastructure restoration? Will Pelosi not take the bait? Is every member of the House up for reelection?

Bring those troops home. Omigod, Trump is a peace monger, except for those evil Chinese who I never liked anyway since the crappy toaster oven burned the house down.

But wait! THERE'S MORE.

The Chinese are trying to reelect Trump.

Oh look! Another squirrel! And people looked.

If you think those numbers are high, just wait. THERE'S MORE!

"On May 13, the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation (VOC) released polling results in partnership with internationally recognized research and data firm YouGov from 1,382 representative U.S. respondents ages 18 and older.

Findings:

Over two-thirds of Americans (69%) view the Chinese government as either “somewhat” or “very responsible” for the spread of the coronavirus.

Roughly half (51%) support the Chinese government paying countries affected by the pandemic.

Two-in-three (67%) view China as either a competitor or enemy in light of the coronavirus pandemic. Only 6% view China as an ally.

Over four-in-ten (43%) have a more unfavorable opinion about the Chinese government as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

71% believe China should be “penalized” for the coronavirus pandemic. More specifically:

41% believe there should be international sanctions.

33% believe there should be additional tariffs on Chinese products.

32% believe the U.S. should refuse to pay interest on Chinese-held U.S. government bonds.

25% believe Chinese government officials should be banned from travel to the U.S. "

China, building on their base of overwhelming international support from the COVID-19 mess, signals a change in their approach. What might that be? Could it be "Let's get hostile"?

" The reason why China firmly prohibits separatist Taiwan authority from participating in the World Health Assembly (WHA) as an observer is due to the fact such authority has abandoned the one-China principle, and no matter how the US politicians and their allies exploit the issue to encourage Taiwan separatism, the only consequence that may ensue is the mainland considering ending this senseless game by solving the Taiwan question once and for all via non-peaceful means.

The US Senate on Monday passed a bill that requests Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to design a strategy to "help Taiwan regain observer status" at the WHA, the decision-making body of the World Health Organization (WHO), to be held on May 17. "

Apparently Trump's 2020 reelection strategy is: Yeah, the nation is in the toilet and a lot of people are dying, but you fanatically partisan stupid sons of bitches elected me so this is really your fault and the best part is that you're so damn stupid you'll probably do it again!

Trouble is, he may well be right. :arg

I don't think it's a "rationalization" to think that Trump's counting on everyone who voted for him before to do it again....and that the key to defeating him is to simply ignore those voters and concentrate on having more voters vote for the Democrat this time than voted for the Democrat last time. (58% turnout and 3 million more votes wasn't enough to elect Hillary Clinton last time, so we'll have to get a few million of the 100 million voting-eligible non-voters this time.)

Reuters/Ipsos poll result a plus for Trump

Post by Darren »

"More American voters believe that President Donald Trump is better suited to create jobs, when compared to his presumed presidential election opponent, Democratic candidate Joe Biden, according to a new poll.

The poll, which was conducted by Reuters and Ipsos, surveyed 1,215 U.S. adults on May 4 and May 5. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

According to the poll, 43 percent of U.S. adults said Trump is better suited to create jobs while 32 percent said that Biden was the better candidate for this category. The results show Trump with a 13 point advantage over Biden and, according to the poll, that is a 7 point increase from a similar poll conducted in mid-April, that showed Trump with a 6 point lead over Biden.

That's how the flesh-colored Mussolini got elected too!
Similar to Adolf Hitler, Italian Fascist leader Benito Mussolini did not become the dictator of a totalitarian regime overnight. For several years, he and his allies worked more or less within the confines of the Italian constitution to accrue power, eroding democratic institutions until the moment came for them to be done away with entirely. It is generally agreed that that moment came in speech Mussolini gave to the Italian parliament on January 3, 1925, in which he asserted his right to supreme power
Eerie, ain't it?

Yeah.  With Trump's handling of the coronavirus pandemic, I suppose he will create a lot of jobs.  For grave-diggers, and for the positions that are now vacant because of the — what is it now, eighty thousand or so? — former employees who have punched the heavenly time clock instead.

Dead Drunk
Johannesburg - Free State police are on the hunt for suspects who broke into a mortuary and stole embalming powder as well as exhumation liquid which contains 97% alcohol concentrate. Free State police spokesperson Brigadier Motantsi Makhele said the burglary occurred on April 28 at the Rest in Peace Funeral Parlour in Clocolan . . .

. . . This burglary happened after several reports circulated that desperate people have resorted to drinking hand sanitisers to get drunk because trading of alcohol has been banned due to the current lockdown regulations. Hand sanitizers contain up to 70% of alcohol.
