I don't blame her. I wonder if Harry Reid had a talk with here. With renewed focus on Klobuchar's prosocutorial decisions to not charge police officers and Wall Street's dislike of Warren, who is left that can be a crutch for Biden?

"LAS VEGAS (AP) — Democratic Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada said Thursday that she’s not interested in serving as running mate to presumptive presidential nominee Joe Biden."

A "crutch" for Papa Joe? That's an unwarranted assumption. Those worried about Klobuchar's record, or those on Wall St. worried about Warren aren't voting Democrat, regardless.

Cortez Masto's decision to drop from Biden's short list probably has more to do with the knowledge that she already knows she been vetted and didn't pass the criteria Biden has in mind. Saying "not interested" is a political tactic used by those who are soon to be notified they are "not wanted." Their résumé will look much cleaner when it's needed further down the line.

It is just depressing that in a country of 300+ million this is the best we can do. Maybe we should consider allowing ourselves to be governed by artificial life.

On a side note: I accidentally began reading through this thread on page one, intending to scan the latest. There I found a sort of dialogue between Darren and Lord Jim barely a month ago. It was a moving reminder of what our virtual community here has lost. Thank you Lord Jim, wherever you are.

"The National Legal and Policy Center said in a May 21 announcement that "since 2017 alone," the year the Biden center opened, it has received "over $70 million from China, of which $22 million were listed as 'Anonymous.'" The complaint specifically names the Biden Center, which is part of the University of Pennsylvania. The foreign gift reporting, however, only includes a list of foreign donations, both "monetary gifts" and contracts, to UPenn and does not distinguish which may have been earmarked for the Biden Center.

The entries do acknowledge that the foreign gifts came from China. However, because the gifts from China are more than $250,000, federal law requires that the specific name of the individual donor to disclosed, not just the country of the gift's origin."

That makes sense to me, Ray. We all vote for China when we go to Walmart and other emporiums of everything Chinese. Why not a president too?

But they think that "Creepy Joe" is going to be a winner for them. Okay...
