To the extent that Stalinism and Trotskyism are both derivatives of Leninism I don't subscribe to either (although in principle Trotsky was probably "righter" than Stalin). In later Marxist theory I align with Chico-Harpoism, despite its anarchistic tendencies.

Sue I have the three-volume set of commentary on Trotsky by Isaac Deutscher (the Prophet. . .) on my shelf. I love the copyright notice "The moral rights of the author have been asserted." Similar to your conclusion, I prefer the philosophy of G Marx and J Lennon I will grant you that the many public comments by Harpo have much worth pondering.
