How did I not notice I had the 5th letter here but kept on questing for it?

Some of these Quordles — sheesh!! I don't know if the words themselves are more challenging, or if it's the fact you're trying to play four words at once with room for only five incorrect attempts overall. -"BB"-
Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

True but didn't you feel great about getting the last 3 on 7, 8, 9? A squeaker

Yes, I threw away 2 guesses trying to find another letter to no avail. I knew they were wrong (the second guess had three same consonants, so guess 3 & 4 had 2 of the same when the correct word could only have one) I just couldn't figure out where to put that second letter I got in guess 2 anywhere but first or last, and was trying to find a vowel (and had to use that unplaceable letter I had). Well, I HAD the vowel- it was the unplaceable letter. Somehow still got it.

That it was, but I had pretty much figured out the word in the top right quadrant and could probably have solved it on attempt #5, but I would have gained (or eliminated) only one letter. The word I used for attempt #5 merely confirmed my missing letter (and the oddball letter I used turned out to be no help at all anywhere else). So I switched tactics for attempt #6, since I already had four of five letters for the bottom right, and tried to solve it and missed... I had all the right letters, just out of order. Going into attempt #7, that's when I really began to sweat because I'd only have the one chance to solve the lower left word and save the game. But I got lucky and hit it, and the last two were just a case of cleaning up the leftovers.
Long story short — yeah, I felt pretty good. -"BB"-

<-- There's at least eight words with that same last 4. Fortunately, I'd used 6 of the possible 1st letters in my 1st 3 guesses, so I only had 2 left to choose from.
Daily Dordle #0063 4&6/7 <-- I hate wasting a turn with a word I know is wrong (it used a letter already eliminated) but I needed something in the right place.

quordle.com <-- I used that jokingly. Surprised it was right.
OK, that went well, considering I tried a tactic I don't like.

Same problem as BB. My first failure and I still had two more possibilities for that first letter. There are (as Dats pointed out) a total of 8 possible words here (I hope I am not providing any sort of spoiler) and two of those were eliminated by my first two guesses.
