I had FIVE possibilities (all the first letter, fortunately 2 more were eliminated earlier). No word contained all 5 or even 4 of them, 3 words contained 3 of the possible letters so I used one of those as a "throwaway" guess, knowing that if it wasn't any of those I would be left with 50/50. but that's better than a 1 in 4. As it was, the letter was in my throwaway word.
