No. They just don't have that kind of purchasing power. But I didn't expect you would understand any of my points.
Good god, take the stick out of your a$$, I thought it was pretty funny, in my dry sense of humor sort of way.

I see you still don't get it, but now feel the need to abuse me. I am not surprised.

No I don't get your idealistic view of the "local shopkeeper" and I'm sure there are plenty of examples in your own life that would provide point out your hypocrisy. There is nothing mystical or magical about a local store like you seem tho think there is.

Fewer choices, higher prices, you bet! Sign me up!

Unless of course you do still go to a cobbler.

I do get my shoes cobbled.

I knew what I was saying was beyond you. Feel free to point out my hypocrisy, if/when you find it.

You get handmade shoes, yea I believe you. I could believe you may get them re-soled, that does not a cobbler make.

I see you have nothing, as usual, except some jealousy.

You buy your bulk goods lib. I'll keep supporting the smaller retailer.

You're thinking of a cordwainer. They make shoes. Cobblers mend them.
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

Yes you are absolutely correct sir, never even seen that word before, interesting. That's how obsolete they are I suppose.

Much like the one door store is getting.

For what?

Maybe not jealousy, just an innate need to swipe at people with different principles than you.

I can understand that. I can also understand that you will need to come back and have another go.

You enjoy yourself Lib.

Gosh, so that DOES a cobbler make. I thought that was who I was visiting when I was getting my preventative repairs done.

My local cobbler gives a 12 month guarantee on his work. Which is a lot better than some cheap shoddy shoes that can be bought.

I purchase footwear that is meant to be re-soled, not thrown away after it wears out.

Me too.

I was mistaken about the definition of cobbler. I can admit a mistake or ignorance on my part when I discover it, having thought that a cobbler both made and repared shoes. Others........

Gosh, so that DOES a cobbler make. I thought that was who I was visiting when I was getting my preventative repairs done
use the opportunity to point out their great :loon superiority.

Over something trivial.

I'll still be the one not using them .... ever.

I come from a line of local shopkeeps and I guess that will never leave me.

If you don't support your local, one day you will wake up and they won't be there.

Is this the appropriate place to use your quote about "Good God take the stick out of your a$$"?

I think it might be. You were trying to be insulting to me once more and you fell flat on your face.

Sucks being you.

Lib. Fair play on being big enough to admit a mistake. Good on you!

But...

You were the first to play the superiority card over the word 'cobbler'...

I do not need to stop purchasing from my small local shopkeep, regardless of his prices being more expensive, as I would rather keep him in business. I understand that you don't.

I do not want my country taken over by large buying conglomerates at the expense of these smaller shopkeeps. I understand that you have.

Looking after my "local" is important to me. I understand that this isn't for you.
How wrong I was.

I went to the local farmers markets to pick up some Truffle Oil.

I located this brand which you can actually see the Truffle in the product (which was better than the 'aroma' oils).

Imagine my surprise when I found that Nick stocked the same product, but $10.00 cheaper.

I should learn to trust you Nick.
