Yes! That's right, it's me, and I'm posting from home! Oh, the thrill of it all! Got me enough paychecks and rent money that I hooked up the internet again- Woo-Hoo!
So, it looks like you're stuck with me
First question: Why is the board so ...narrow? At the library, it was normal full-screen but here it's compressed vertically. I've typed documents which were normal-sized and the googlepage is full fine. Wassup?
I'm online!
Re: I'm online!
What screen resolution are you using?
A sufficiently copious dose of bombast drenched in verbose writing is lethal to the truth.
Re: I'm online!
try this (it made my view of the board wider)
Board Preferences
Global Settings
Board Style -- choose "prosilver"

Re: I'm online!
It's all magic to me...I've just learned by trial and error (or sheer forced memorization) how to find stuff. I've also finally after many years lost my fear that if I hit one wrong key, the entire computer will disappear in a puff of smoking ascii.

Re: I'm online!
That must be my problem, my memory sucks. I always forget which demon to appease, with what offering, so they must have done that to my screen in mischief.
Re: I'm online!
Not that it matters anymore, but:
Click on Start
Select Settings
Select Control Panel
Select Display
Click on the tab “Settings”
In the middle left you will see “Screen Resolution”
Under a slider bar you will see the two numbers that indicate how many dots wide and tall you will see.
Mine is set for 1280 x 1024
If you have an LCD display, it will have an optimum display resolution.
Many web sites are setting higher numbers as their default.
Prosilver looks like it is close to 650 wide (I can slim it to about one half of my display). You can see this by making your browser so as to be NOT full screen and then drag one side or the other in and making it skinny. You will see it force the text to wrap up until a certain point after which things disappear.
Doing the same thing in Absolution and things disappear at about the ¾ point which is probably 1024
So, if your resolution is under 1024 wide, you will find Absolution too big (left to right) to all be displayed.
