AZ inmate arrested for refusing to leave lockup

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz.—Most people can't wait to leave jail, but one northern Arizona inmate has been charged with trespassing after refusing to leave the Coconino County lockup.
Coconino County Sheriff's Office spokesman Gerry Blair says 44-year-old Martin Batieni Kombate was arrested in Flagstaff last week for trespassing and was scheduled for release Monday on his own recognizance on the charge.

But when detention officers from the sheriff's office showed up to escort him out, Kombate allegedly said he wasn't leaving and was staying because he couldn't find his wallet.

Blair tells The Associated Press that Kombate was disorderly in a jail cell, would not leave, so the police were called and Kombate was arrested.

Blair says Kombate remains in jail.

I wish I could've been O.R.-ed out but alas...

I couldn't wait to get the hell out of Elmwood Correctional Facilty, I suppose that's just me.

What was he doing with his wallet in the jail cell? When you're arrested, don't you turn that over to be kept until you leave?

Dale, perhaps, you could provide some expertise on that question.... :P

Glad to.

After I was booked into the Main Jail in San Jose, all my personal items (jewelry, money, etc) were placed in a large manila envelope. It was secured upon my relaese either by posting bail (which I chose NOT to do) or being OR'ed out (which due to the circumstances were not offered).

I smelled something fishy about his "wallet story" also.

Call on me anytime, Jim. 8-)

Can you teach us how to make a shiv Dales? ;)

Oh and I've always wanted to know... How DID you get that rock hammer for Tim Robbins? ;)
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

This is a good place for me to vent:

As a newbie prosecutor with the heart of a defense attorney, I've been sweet talked into reducing bond or OR releasing on a number of occasions.

This month a guy I OR'd molested his GF's kid, and another guy I reduced bond on beat up his GF and is on the run.

So, from now on, the scum can rot in jail if they're too poor to post bond. Or, the judge can have it on his conscience.

I'm getting my crazy badass prosecutor ON!
For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.

Btw, my all time favorite King adaptation Superb in every way. Oh, that rock hammer? Another of my favorites. Got it smuggled in for a few packs if smokes. Pay attention people!

All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.
