Maybe if She had a Slide Rule...
Maybe if She had a Slide Rule...
The reason I'm not posting this in 'Laffs' is because a serious discussion could be had regarding the relationship of this husband and wife... (or maybe not)
Re: Maybe if She had a Slide Rule...
I could only watch for the first minute. Either he's a complete dick, or they staged it to be "funny".
Re: Maybe if She had a Slide Rule...
She is either the greatest dead-pan "dumb blonde schtick" comedienne since Gracie Allen, or she has the math ability of a hamster...
In any event, I can easily see why lack of math skills wouldn't hold her back in terms of her appeal...
When a guy meets a chick who looks like that, the first thing that occurs to him isn't "I wonder how good she is at calculus?"

Re: Maybe if She had a Slide Rule...
I doubt if anyone under 50 even knows how to use a slide rule.
Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

My dad showed me once
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.
Re: Maybe if She had a Slide Rule...
The more I think about it, the more I think that her problem may not have been math per se...
If you watch the video, she performs some multiplication and division calculations that are accurate...
It seems like her problem was grasping the concept and meaning of "Miles Per Hour" and applying it to the question....
It's as though she thought that "Miles Per Hour" some how meant something different than, well, miles per hour...

Exactly.Lord Jim wrote: It's as though she thought that "Miles Per Hour" some how meant something different than, well, miles per hour...
She is unclear on the concept.
Her elevator doesn't quite make it to the top floor.

I first learned to use one in high school c. 1968.Lord Jim wrote:I'm 52, and I never learned.
I was 16.
That is all we had when solving problems in electronics back in the day.
When the first HP calculators came out by the early 1970's they were EXPENSIVE (around $300) so I held onto my trusty Picket slide rule.

Re: Maybe if She had a Slide Rule...
I thought slide rules were only really good for checking your math. (limited accuracy)

he's being a little dickish but she's completely missing the point

Yes, not nearly as accurate as even the cheapest calculators of today.Crackpot wrote:I thought slide rules were only really good for checking your math. (limited accuracy)
In electronics theory class, a variable of 5% was well within the stated parameters.

Topic drift is fun.
One can only imagine how exciting this thread might have been if I had titled it 'Maybe if she had an abacus.'

I Know how to use one of those

"per" is the problem for her. That and a non functioning cortex.

This is a good example of why I find so many men utterly tiresome; because they'd rather fuck someone like that than a woman with brains.

You're a single man now a days...
You tryin' to tell me that if she were interested, that you wouldn't hit that thang?

I'm a sapiosexual; I can't get interested in idiots.
I find average looking people of high intelligence far more attractive than 'typically' attractive, empty-headed twits.
