I'd be careful about that; I heard that Jord Lim guy is a scammer.
GAH!
Re: Gee this forum sure has become unpopular....
Based on RB's post I'll withdraw my suggestion; however, as it's still taking several minutes to load each page, I'll be chilling until I hear things have returned to normal.

RB, are these sites experiencing the same problems this one is?I run my employers website via a Dreamhost account as well as several not for profit sites I've set up for various groups I have been involved with.

Re: Gee this forum sure has become unpopular....
My guess is that Plan B is low on DreamHost's priority list.

I think their motto isThe Happy DreamHost Server Fixing Team
"We're not happy until you're not happy"

I'm in, at least I don't have to cut the lawn.200 acre plot on the moon

Still a little slow, but tolerable. 4 months ago it might have caused me to drink

Maybe if somebody with....
I don't know, say nine accounts hosted with the company...
Were to put in a good word for us, we might move a little higher up the priority list....
ETA:
Here's a thought...
If we hang in a little while longer, maybe enough other people will bail, so that the traffic on this server will go down to the point that the page loading speed will re-enter the 21st Century, and we won't have to go through the hassle and expense of moving...

Sorry Jim had a few days so busy I didnt see your post - bit of a moot point now lol but no none of my other accounts or sites had any downtime at all but they are all on other servers with DH so wouldn't have been affected anyway.
If you can keep your head while those around you are losing theirs, you may have misjudged the situation.
Re: Gee this forum sure has become unpopular....
We're half way through the month and great progress is being made in hardening our networking infrastructure! This last week we made a major step forward in both our Irvine and LAX data centers as we executed the change over to our new border router hardware from Juniper Networks (the last data center gets the treatment this week and then it's on to the core routers). Our industrious Network Operations team has also been doing extensive preparation for future improvements (the fruits of which will appear on our status page via maintenance announcements and in the forthcoming update emails like this one).
Customers at our Irvine data center may have noticed a network outage this last Saturday. One of our upstream providers executed a scheduled maintenance window for Saturday. We routed traffic so that it would no longer use that provider in an effort to avoid downtime; however, when attempting to reroute that traffic we ran into a configuration issue -- we were routing through our partner's network and a portion of their configuration was missing. That caused a segment of our network at that specific data center to be unreachable for a time. As a result, we and our partners are developing more robust plans for handling such issues going forward which will allow us to avoid any future downtime of this nature.
