I've not made any excuses retard, reading comprehension is not your strong point.

I'm in e-mail contact with them.

Are you?

I know first hand why they no longer post here (not that AndyH ever did to any extent.)

Do you know why they do not?

You brought them up after all.

AndyH only posted a small number of times, and that was due to my asking him to come and comment.

By the way this isn't the first time you've raised both names as examples of people who have left, why raise people who you were nothing about?

Why not raise people who you are in contact with who can confirm your accusations?

oh... wait...

Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

And Tommy Thompson sees his own campaign implode by promising his Tea Party supporters that he will "do away with Medicare and Medicaid":

Who better than me, who's already finished one of the entitlement programs, to come up with programs to do away with Medicaid and Medicare?

Having heard that my name was being taken in vain.... I thought I'd pop in here to say hello...

There are two primary reasons why I don't post on this board or others of similar nature; they're both about equal in importance to me. Like 'em or not, they are mine.

1) I do not, and have not for some time, enjoyed the ad hominem nature of many postings here. Note that I say postings, not posters, as I think this ad hominem stuff is a sport in which many people of all ideologies partake, myself not excepted. The anonymity of the Internet is a fine shield, but when one begins to worry about the intersection of personal life with political rants and raves, that's where I check out. The level of vitriol on most anonymous Internet forums is at an alltime high today, a byproduct, no doubt, of the current political climate.

2) I have more productive and enjoyable things to do with my time - at least in terms of my personal priorities. I have never been busier or more successful in my work life (some of you are well aware of the reasons for and details of this); I now have six adult kids/stepkids and seven grandkids (with a wide variety of needs and demands on our time!) to attend to; I am about to get hitched for the third time next spring; we are at the peak of our long-time, large-scale home renovations (which take me longer and longer to accomplish as the years pass - I just hit the decade of social security eligibility on Monday); and non-anonymous social media like Facebook seem to provide a forum for whatever political discussion needs I have. In addition, I find that I've been working more and more in real life political causes, spending a lot more time and money trying to "work the center" (as the pundits say) rather than trying to convince anyone of anything on anonymous Internet forums.

I am in real-life contact with several of you here - including of course, The Gob, who (although he sometimes plays an A-hole on the Interwebz ;) ) is a rather nice person. I'm sure I can say the same of many others - some of you may be surprised to learn that among those with whom I converse and interact on a regular basis is the poster formally known as "omar" - I've been a bit surprised to find that he's a thoroughly decent individual, despite our extreme disagreement on almost all things political. There are a few others that I see in person and via telephone as well. Those of you who wish to get in contact with me can easily do so through Facebook, Linked In, and other social media. We've had the opportunity to travel quite a bit around the country to be with our extended family and I've had the chance to meet several people that I'd previously known only as correspondents or "avatars". Let me know if you'd like to catch up - I'm sure you can find me if you'd like to do so.

My best wishes to all of you - just because I no longer want to convince you of anything doesn't mean that I don't wish you health, happiness, and success in whatever ways you hope to achieve it.

Ha, there you go again, trying to convince me that I could have health, happiness and success in whatever way I wish. Well, I'm not buying it, mister!

Good to hear from you AndyH and I'm glad you are doing well. Take care and I wish you and yours nothing but happiness and blue skies. But do drop in once in a while to let us know how things are.

No comment from rubato? How strange...
