BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN had said he planned to stay out of the 2012 election but these are worrying times and the race is getting closer.
So ''The Boss'' will be coming back to rally support for the US President, Barack Obama, his campaign has announced.
Springsteen will join the former president Bill Clinton in Parma, in the crucial swing state of Ohio, on Thursday. An Obama campaign news release said Mr Clinton would ''lay out a clear picture of the economic choice'' Americans face in this election.
And Springsteen? ''His appearance will help with our get out the vote effort in these critical swing states and we are thrilled with his ongoing support,'' said Jim Messina, Mr Obama's campaign manager.
After the Parma appearance, Springsteen will head to Ames, Iowa, for another rally/concert for the President. Iowa is also considered a crucial state for Mr Obama to win.
Springsteen campaigned for Senator John Kerry during his presidential bid in 2004 and he came out again, to better results, for Mr Obama in 2008. But he said afterwards that he would stay out of the 2012 cycle.
Few people believed him, not only because Springsteen performed during the inauguration festivities for Mr Obama in 2009, but because his presence has been felt this year at every Obama campaign rally.
I remember one of the last campaigns, where the Dems had people lie Springsteen etc, and the Reps had "Billy Joe Buckhide and the good old boys" or someone.
Who are the reps rolling out this time?
“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.”
I've never seen the point of Kid Rock, what does he actually do?
“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.”
“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.”
So "Kid Rock" sings kiddy pop, unoriginal kiddy pop at that....
“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.”
But there again, no one ever claimed this was about "big numbers" or any numbers for that matter.
“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.”
And actually, Springsteen lost fans for taking such a definite political stance last go-round. So good for him for continuing to put himself out there!
“I ask no favor for my sex. All I ask of our brethren is that they take their feet off our necks.” ~ Ruth Bader Ginsburg, paraphrasing Sarah Moore Grimké

Oh yeah, he put himself "out there". If you think his "bottom line" took any kind of hit for his political stance, you overestimate is presuasiveness, and so does he.
I don't look to rock stars for what/who I should vote for. I look to them for some music. Thier political veiws persuade me not one bit and even if I oppose their views, it will not persuade me to not listen to thier music. Likewise with film stars. Shut your mouth and compose music or act. If you want into politics then take the leap. It takes a lot of money, but then again, you already have that.but oh wait, I might have to spend my own?
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

That's the great thing about America, oldr. Everyone is allowed to have and express a political opinion. Why should the opinions of musicians, actors, plumbers, lawyers or insurance salesmen be discounted merely because of what they do for a living? Are politicians the only ones who can express an opinion on public issues? And not everyone who has an opinion need go into politics personally in order to express that view. Why don't you say the same thing about Charles and David Koch, who use their considerable wealth to promote their political opinions without actually running for office?
