Because as stated, it's in an archived version of CSB? This post was made about the time, or before they were married 8, 9 years ago?

Of course, I will link to it, when I can retrieve it. That hasn't happen yet, obviously. Archives are hard to open.

Can you answer why no other Board member has knowledge of this post Lo?

Why did no one post to me on it?

Why did I publicly reveal a terrible tragic secret about being raped as a child and NO ONE here has a memory of it?

Why did Ed and Steve not raise it when they were looking for all those sex filled threads that Gob and I never made on that incarnation of the CSB?

Has the thought crossed your mind that you are completely wrong?

Back to the OP.

It looks like the sentences are going to be reviewed.
Child rapists' sentences reviewed

The Attorney General's Office is reviewing the sentences of two child rapists who were jailed for just 40 months for attacking an 11-year-old girl in Bedfordshire.

Roshane Channer and Ruben Monteiro, both 21, were each jailed for less than three-and-a-half years after they admitted raping the schoolgirl in a block of flats in Luton last July.

A spokeswoman for the Attorney General's Office said either the Attorney General Dominic Grieve QC or the Solicitor General Edward Garnier QC would review the case and make a decision whether to appeal by March 9.

Sentencing the pair, who claimed the young girl looked at least 14, Judge David Farrell QC reportedly told Luton Crown Court there were exceptional factors in the "abhorrent" case that led him to reduce the sentence.

"Despite her age it is accepted she was a willing participant, but the law is there to protect young girls from this type of behaviour and to protect them from themselves," he said.

The Attorney General's Office said it was reviewing the sentences following a number of requests. Leading children's charity the NSPCC was among those who urged the Attorney General to intervene, saying the sentences were "incredibly light" and "apparently failed to take fully into account the fact that under law no child can consent to sex".

Andrew Flanagan, the charity's chief executive, said: "We have called on the Attorney General to urgently review this case as the offenders appear to have been given incredibly light sentences considering they were found guilty of raping an 11-year-old girl.

"This was a vile attack on a girl barely out of primary school which was even recorded on video so the pictures could be circulated. We have no doubt the sentences should be much heavier than the 40 months which have been imposed."

Channer, of no fixed address, and Monteiro, of Luton, both admitted rape and will be on the sex offenders register for life.
I am hoping that they will have decided to appeal by the 9 March deadline. Fingers crossed.

Better, but still not enough...

Two men who raped an 11-year-old girl in Luton have had their "unduly lenient" sentences more than doubled.

Roshane Channer and Ruben Monteiro, both 21, were originally jailed at Luton Crown Court for three years and four months for the July 2011 rape.

The sentences were changed to seven years by three Court of Appeal judges who agreed with the attorney general they were too lenient.

Channer and Monteiro will also be on the sex offenders register for life.

At the original hearing in February, Channer, of no fixed address, and Monteiro, of Luton had admitted raping the schoolgirl in a block of flats in Luton.

The court heard the that pair had carried out the attack while two other youths watched and a video recording of part of the incident was taken on a mobile phone.

Nice sentiment.

Check out the average sentences for rape in the UK and US.

Then check out the rate of conviction of reported rapes in both countries.

Loca, as a Christian I don't find it hard to forgive people when/if they hurt me. But it is not my right or my duty to forgive people for hurting someone else. As a human I find it very difficult not to write you off simply as a very hate filled person determined to demonstrate your worst characteristics. I cannot use language forceful enough to express how deeply disgusted and saddened I am by what you have just done.

You are a disappointment

Shame because on the subject there was much to discuss. For example, why the arbitrary age of 16 means that consent cannot be given? Legally it obviously cannot but laws are subject to change as are the definitions of words. If a 14 year old can legally marry with parental permission, why cannot that same 14 year old choose sexual intercourse with a parent's permission? (Understand - I don't agree with that but then I have a moral ground of absolute truth on which to stand - others have only whatever they currently think and vote for to hold up as "right")
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

I agree that the sentences are still too lenient. I would have expected a minimum of a double figure.

To serve her age in prison would have been better. To serve time until the legal age for consent, ironic.

Naturally, as a mother, there is no time long enough for this scum. They should suffer dreadful pain and if she were my daughter, and I had time alone with them, they would have.

Meade, I appreciate your words, although they were not for me.

This incident was probably the lowest point of my Internet experience! and one I do not wish to have repeated.
