Is today the day that Trump announces his run was a big joke after all, and wishes all the suckers good luck?

Wesw, wesw, wesw .....
It's not that we don't want to talk to you any more; it's just that we want to interact with people who are willing to have an intelligent conversation. And anyone who follows and backs Trumpty-Dumpty as blindly as you do would not appear to be capable of engaging in such an enlightened discourse.
Step back for a moment and take a look at the man and his platform. So far, the only things out of his mouth are how poorly it seems the country is currently being run and his vow that if he is elected you'd better believe that things are going to change. He's going to go after ISIS; he's going to deport all the Muslims (except the rich ones; they're his friends); he's going to completely halt all illegal immigration; he's going to make better deals with all the other countries in the world that we interact with, foes and allies alike; he's going to fix the economy, create jobs, eliminate welfare, and reduce taxes; he's going to 'MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN' (which, btw, begs the question ... just when was it that he last felt America was great and why?) — and it's going to be "HEEYYYUUUGGE" and you're going to love it. Just don't bother him by asking him to spell out the details.
Mix that with a significant amount of fingerpointing at the other candidates and trying to show why they are not as good a choice as he is, including a 'birther'-like campaign against the man who is becoming his closest rival for the GOP nomination, and you find that there is no substance to his campaign whatsoever. While his remarks make for a lot of good soundbites, it is little more than following Howard Beale's advice in "Network" to
Sure, it's good to let the people in charge know that they are being held accountable, and to let them know when they have strayed from what is best for the country to what is best for themselves and their puppetmasters. But when that is all a candidate and his supporters have to show, you don't have a party; you don't have a movement; you don't even have a good high school debate team. What you have is what Kurt Vonnegut, in his novel "Cat's Cradle", called a "granfalloon".
And that is why intelligent people everywhere are so eager to take down Mr. Drumpf, and to a lesser point are unwilling to engage you in political discussions. You've been making the same noise, over and over again, on your one-note "Trump"-et for so long that we are all familiar with the tune and frankly don't need to hear it any more. But you can't see it; you and the rest of the Trumpanzees are the ultimate example of the horse steadfastly following the carrot on the stick and plodding on and on in whatever direction the person holding the reins decides. And you are focusing so single-mindedly on the carrot that you are unable to realize that the driver doesn't really know where he's going either.

And unless he starts offering some concrete ideas as to exactly HOW he intends to do this — rather than merely pointing to how he handled things as an entrepreneur when he could deal from a position of complete and absolute power — he is likely to come to about the same end as did our fictional television commentator. Remember, the man is running for President, not "Supreme and Imperial Potentate", and must follow the Constitution and the other existing laws of our country, none of which give him the ultimate and absolute authority to do even 10% of what he claims he is going to do.... get up right now, sit up, go to your windows, open them and stick your head out and yell — 'I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore!'

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Unfortunately it's intended as a joke, though it's actually a rare moment of pure candor...I'm sure those are things he honestly believes about his supporters...

Very presidential.
Re: trump is serious!!!!!
BB, you seem confused. it is I who don t want to talk to you.
you ve heardthe horrible things that I, and all trump supporters have been called here. Nazi, racist, bigot, xenophobe, anti-Semite, homophobe, among other things.
you have seen the endless memes of trump and his hair compared to a horse s ass, complete with picture comparisons.
then you call us dumb and hateful.
distort dissemble and outright lie all you want. assume we are all morons and can t see your lies for what they are.
the media is the latest weapon in the war on trumpism.
distorting the truth and confirming misinformation and false quotes is their current tactic.
so yeah, we re stupid.
you are to good for us.
it not you, it s me......

Re: trump is serious!!!!!
if it wasn t raining I wouldn t even be here.
I won t lie. I don t enjoy being disliked and vilified . I was happy to have found a place where I could be myself, where I could talk to people about world events and history and many other things.
a place where I kinda fit into an unoccupied niche of the conversation.
a place where I amused people. I am hilarious after all...., shame not to share it.....
of course I occasionally pissed you all off, but don t we all here?
anyway...., it all changed, and you , who have been here thru it, know when..., it s in this thread.
anyway, now that I am thoroughly disliked, and even hated, it is no longer worth the intellectual stimulation. the price is too high.
I tried the economist sight first, for intelligent talk. it was not there. you were shouted down by people with an agenda.
this place was different, except for scooter...., and rube...., and jim lost his mind when he talked to rube....
but I have changed too. I have become less pleasant here...
....thanks Obama!!!!

Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

In the space of three days, Trump has managed to take virtually every position possible on abortion, managing to get denounced by people on all sides of the issue:
http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2016/ ... hree-days/Trump Takes His Fourth Position On Abortion In Three Days. He’ll Need To Change This One Immediately
Trump is having a lot of trouble making up his mind about where he stands on abortion.
In a Wednesday town hall, Trump told MSNBC’s Chris Matthews that abortion should be banned and that women who undergo an abortion should face “some form of punishment.”
This position drew outcry not only from pro-choice advocates but members of the pro-life community who adhere to an unspoken rule not to discuss punishment for women.
Before the interview officially aired, Trump began to walk back his position, saying “the issue is unclear” and that whether a woman should face punishment should be “left to the states.”
That position, however, didn’t really satisfy anyone. So Trump released another statement saying that a woman who undergoes an abortion is “a victim” and only the doctor should face punishment.
That position lasted barely 48 hours. In an interview with CBS’ John Dickerson set to air on Sunday, Trump said that he supported existing abortion laws and they should not be changed.
Under existing law, of course, abortion is legal and doctors generally do not face punishment for the procedure itself.
This position is untenable in the context of a Republican primary campaign. So it’s a near certainty that Trump will change his position again very soon.
UPDATE APR 1, 2016 8:29 PM
A Trump spokeswoman quickly walks back his statement, establishing his fifth position in three days:
How typical of Trumpty...
He takes five different positions and then tries to claim he's been saying the same thing all along...

Re: trump is serious!!!!!

(especially jim, who, even tho he called bullshit on me (incorrectly) was always fair and openminded...., until trump came to town anyway....)
and I regret hurting guin s feelings and insulting her best friend. (but Hillary is still the devil
)
I m not saying goodbye, unless you ban me, then I quit
, but just so long.... (I ll probably be back next week anyway.....)

Actually wes, as repulsive as he is, I've tried to be fair even to Trump...(especially jim, who, even tho he called bullshit on me (incorrectly) was always fair and openminded...., until trump came to town anyway....)
Several times, when I thought he was getting attacked on something that wasn't really legitimate, I have said so...(like about the phony Trump storm trooper group, or the claims that people raising their hands for that silly vote pledge were giving the Nazi salute)

TRUMP IS SERIOUS!!!!!
Trumpy can't help himself. Just more smoke and mirrors. That explanation is no better than Tricky Dick's plan to end the war in Vietnam when he was running for his 2nd term. And too many people fell for it then, too.

Just watching el Clasico on TV - Barcelona hosting Real Madrid. Louis "Chops" Suarez just missed a simple tap in for a goal. It was the most appalling miss - one that my dead grandmother could have netted, let alone a top pro soccer player of his quality.
"Well," says the commentator, "Suarez just made a right Donald Trump haircut effort to score".

Re: trump is serious!!!!!
I believe you mean when he was running for the second time (in '68, as opposed to '60) rather than when he was running for "his 2nd term" ('72)plan to end the war in Vietnam when he was running for his 2nd term.
By election day in '72, through his Vietnamization program (replacing US troops with South Vietnamese troops) Nixon had reduced the US troop level in Vietnam from the high of 547,000 that he inherited from the Johnson Administration, to fewer than 70,000.

Too bad Warren's dead...sounds like he's got just the right resume for the GOP.

Do people still take shorthand, is it still considered a necessary skill these days? If so, the shorthand symbol for "delusional narcissist" shoud be "wes".

I can only echo what Crackpot said.
You truly are dumber than a bag of rocks... But keep on supporting Trump. Because I honestly think Ted "I can cook bacon on a machine gun" Cruz is even more dangerous than that buffoon Trump, and would probably stand more chance of winning against Bernie or Hillary.
