What would you like in an automobile ?

Cars, Bikes, Airplanes, "bicycles" spelled correctly, Tools and Toys.

Yeah, BB, I knew who it really was, but the interwebz suggesting "Kat Von D" out of the image filename was too good a setup to pass up, even if it was only an inside joke for me.

I'm jealous that you two got to meet Sir Terry Pratchett. Though I'm curious if you went in costume as well...

No, I didn't.  I toyed with the idea of doing something like CMOT Dibbler but
1) this was my first time at any sort of sci-fi/fantasy/geeky-type gathering and
2) I had seen pictures of how elaborate and exact some people get when they do what I now know to be 'cosplay'
3) CMOT Dibbler would hardly be the proper escort of a long-forgotten Virtue.

I figured it was better to graciously abstain rather than appear in a really weak outfit.  And as a gentleman, I did not want my appearance to draw attention away from the lady I was escorting (yeah, that's it....).

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

and it is a pretty good approximation of Sir Terry.

I hate it when the Kindle versions of his books mess up the footnotes.

No approximation there at all, BP — that is indeed Sir Terry as he appeared in 2005.  He was the guest author of honor at Minicon 40 in the Twin Cities on Easter weekend (March 25-27) that year.  They also had a duo (Steve Fastner and Rich Larson) as guest artists of honor.
I just wish Neil Gaimon had been able to drop by; I could have gotten the both of them (Gaimon and Pratchett) to sign my copy of "Good Omens".

BB. Maybe I'm wrong but I think that was a bit of sarcasm on BP's part.
