BLM Throws Another Hissy Fit
Re: BLM Throws Another Hissy Fit
It fits in perfectly with Jarl, however, where the answer to everything is to kill, kill, kill, maim, and kill.

Re: BLM Throws Another Hissy Fit
Getting back to dale's OP, I don't know of any people who have decided to join a cause after being blocked in traffic by the people who are promoting the cause. For example, ask the people driving cars in San Francisco who have to deal with the "Critical Mass" bicyclists who protest at the end of every month by blocking traffic in the city. I wonder how many people have sat there in traffic and said, "Way to go, bicycle riders! I think I'll join your group."
In fact, many protests that block traffic seem to bring out people who are only interested in vandalizing and rioting and have absolutely no interest in the cause. Blocking traffic doesn't accomplish anything other than to divide people.
If you don't believe that, reread this thread.

As to the rest, such discrimination must be halted. Your statement that the city government should have been killed is reprehensible, disgusting and truly worthy of Donald. Well done in exceeding your usual dose of vindictive, violent bigotry.
The accurate narrative of Ferguson is contained in the links I provided.
If you like being ignorant then don't read them. But then don't be surprised when people raped by a corrupt government for decades rise up against it.

You have not read the links, you ignorant asshole. If you were a member of the black and poor population of Ferguson you might have 'gotten' it and realised that for a poor person living on a household income of less than $16,000 per year it is not an inconvenience to have to pay $2,000 in court fees for a trivial infraction, it is a catastrophe. A city government based on the principle that you should extract everything possible from the poorest is an evil institution. And they deserve to be killed.
You are ignorant.

I don't know what has got into you lately Rube: I used to find that I agreed with you 90% of the time but recently . . . .
The only support we have for the 'criminal thug attacking an officer' theory (Meade) came from Darren Wilson who had every reason to lie. Independent witnesses (white as it happens) testified that Brown was some distance away in a submission posture. I have never been on a grand jury but their task is to look at the evidence (and maybe some of our legals can correct me) and decide if there is enough for a conviction beyond reasonable doubt. That is rightly an extremely high bar.
It reminds me of the Trayvon Martin case. Because Zimmerman was found not guilty, every right wing radio kook felt entitled to turn Martin into the aggressor. No. Hell I might have voted not to convict on that jury because maybe, based on the evidence I saw I might have been at 90%. Not enough. I am not saying that not guilty does not mean innocent. By definition not guilty means innocence. But being only 90% certain of (in this case) GZ's guilt does not translate in believing the TM was a thug. Michael Brown was a low grade criminal by most accounts. I don't think he therefore deserved to die.

I'm sorry but that's just not correct...The only support we have for the 'criminal thug attacking an officer' theory (Meade) came from Darren Wilson who had every reason to lie.
Two exhaustive investigations, (including one by the DOJ) interviewing numerous witnesses and all of the forensic evidence support exactly the way Meade characterized it.
Here's a link to an excellent analysis that was written by Johnathan Capehart, a liberal African American journalist who writes for The Washington Post, and is a regular on MSNBC. (I'm not going to copy and paste it; I did that on this board when he first wrote it, before you joined us here.):

Re: BLM Throws Another Hissy Fit
Hundreds of people have marched on Westminster in protest at the shooting of two black men by police in America.
The Black Lives Matter march went through central London to the Houses of Parliament at about 20:00 BST.
The marchers were heard to shout "Hands up, don't shoot" as they carried banners through the capital.
The march is in response to the fatal shootings of Philando Castile in Minnesota and Alton Sterling in Louisiana.
“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.”
Re: BLM Throws Another Hissy Fit
One of the things that BLM fans claim they do is help bring public attention to alleged cases of police misuse of force against minorities that otherwise would not be receiving publicity...
To date I have seen zero evidence to support this claim... In fact what I consistently see is the exact opposite...
An incident of possible serious police misconduct gets uncovered by reporters, (usually initially by a local reporter who covers the police on their beat, or because they've been contacted by a family member or lawyer) then after the TV vans have arrived, BLM swoops in to to get their mugs in front of the cameras so they can exploit the media attention for their own benefit and self-aggrandizement...(and of course fundraising)
It's a technique that was pioneered by Jesse Jackson and perfected by Al Sharpton...
I heard on the news a little while ago that Limbaugh said BLM is becoming a "terrorist organization"....
I think that's going a bit far...
However it's undeniable that bullying and intimidation are defining elements of the way they operate...

Whether a case would have been publicized and whether that publicity is effective in causing the powers that be to do something, are two different things.
Here in Toronto, after the Andrew Loku shooting and the initial finding that police had acted appropriately, it was unrelenting pressure by BLM-TO in the form of sit-ins in front of police headquarters, shutting down an expressway, and picketing the Premier's house that resulted in a coroner's inquest being announced, a venue that will allow for inquiry that goes beyond the "he had a hammer and therefore it was ok to pump a mentally ill man full of bullets" rationalization that resembles how most investigations into police shootings go.

No, thank you Mr James Earl Ray.
The citizens of Tunisia rose up against a corrupt government no more evil and no more harmful than the government of Ferguson. The corruption in Afghanistan and Nigeria creates and arms the Taliban and Boko Haram. It is worthwhile to go back and read the links.

It's odd though - I wouldn't have thought rubato was the kind of person who'd congratulate Ray for assassinating King. Nor did I ever think he would advocate murder as a method of governmental redress. Apparently though he would be in favor of the cold blooded killing of men and women in a small city of the USA.
It is a sobering thought. So to speak.

Blockades and embargoes are recognized as legitimate motives for war.
Being enslaved is similarly generally recognized as a legitimate reason to use lethal force to free yourself.
I asked the question back when the Ferguson riots first happened "why are they so angry". You ignored it. The central question. The answer turned out to be a system of government which was holding them in effective slavery.
You also need to read Ta Nehisi Coates article about reparations to have the beginning of an understanding. You should also read "Torn from the land"; a series of articles about the systematic economic destruction of blacks in the south right up to the present..

It's a good thing protesters aren't screwing up everyone's day in order to get their support. If they were, they would fail.
