The 4th Annual Plan B Person of the Year Award - for 2016
Re: The 4th Annual Plan B Person of the Year Award - for 201
I happen to know that isn't true.
And Joe, no, not acceptable. I nominated them together as a unit, not to be in competition with each other.

Sorry, the ultimate authority for rule institution and interpretation is the founder of the Annual Plan B Person of the Year Award, otherwise known as me. This rule can be referenced in Section 1, paragraph 1 of chapter 1, of a rules manual currently not available to the public, titled, "mon chemin ou l'autoroute".Guinevere wrote:...And Joe, no, not acceptable. I nominated them together as a unit, not to be in competition with each other.

My check is in the mail. I made it out to JoJo since you didn't specify.

Your request will be processed in the order it is received. If it is not received in order, it will be prioritized accordingly.

OK... now that the Peebie rules have been almost finalized I nominate Daisy, RB, and Gob.
I apologize for my earlier confusion. (I hope I spelled everything correctly.)

Update to the rules for The 4th Annual Plan B Person of the Year Award - for 2016
Upon further examination of membership commentation I have instituted an augmentation to my original declaration. I've also edited my original post for clarification. It will now be "up to three candidates" can be nominated" rather than only one. There is no requirement to nominate more than one person.
Any inquiries regarding this change should be communicated in the form of a question. Answers will be provided responsively.

Guin (smart, intelligent, factual)
Lord Jim (always backs up his opinions with insight)
wesw (because no one but me seems to like him)
(I would have nominated SueU and BigRR, but they got too many votes the last couple of years, time to let someone else get some votes)

Just as an observation from a relative newbie, did Joe Guy ever play on the all-star Calvin Ball team?

Annual Plan B Person of the Year Award update:
I'd like to thank those of you who have registered your choice(s) of nominee(s) for the Annual Plan B Person of the Year Award. Concurrently, regardless of whether you have logged into Plan B since this weekend, I would like to berate those of you who have not yet responded.
The Annual Plan B Person of the Year Award has become a unparalleled tradition that is comparable to all other unparalleled traditions, notwithstanding evidence to the contrary. Giving recognition to fellow members for their effort to share their thinnermost thoughts and unfounded ideas is a responsibility that should not be taken slightly.
Therefore, in order to lead by example, here are my nominees for Annual Plan B Person of the Year Award 2016:
wesw, for his ability to touch us all in inappropriate places
rubato, for his humorously consistent lack of humor
Lord Jim, for his awesome ability to speak categorically and communicate dogmatically.

One vote for Kristina, for her unequaled record of civility, her sense of humor, and most of all for her amazing ability to put up with all of us prima donnas on three boards over two decades...
One vote for Joe Guy because...uhh...
well, one vote for Joe Guy anyway...
And one vote for @W to encourage her return...(apparently she went to Israel, sold all her worldly goods, and joined a Kibbutz...)

AndrewD------ Posthumously.
rubato------ unintended humor while making an ass out of himself.
wesw------ a unique individual who always threatens he's going to leave, but never does.

Re: The 4th Annual Plan B Person of the Year Award - for 201
My random (ish) criteria, was to nominate the 1st 3 people who nominated wesw. There's been 4 by my count, so I am a bit late:
Gob: for nominating wesw
oldr_n_wsr: for nominating wesw
Joe Guy: for nominating wesw.
Sorry, Dales, you were the 4th to do so.
Gob: for nominating wesw
oldr_n_wsr: for nominating wesw
Joe Guy: for nominating wesw.

Annual Plan B Person of the Year Award - for 2016 ALERT
We will soon be entering the last hour that nominations will be accepted for the Annual Plan B Person of the Year Award - for 2016 - 11AM to 12PM Pacific Standard Time.I will be forced to make an executive decision if there are any errors, such as Meade's, where he actually nominated 5 people due to a misunderstanding of the rules which I've made clear so it's not my problem. I assure everyone that, as always, I will act in the most fair and transparent manner when dealing with errors, though I'm not going to tell you how I do it and it might not seem reasonable to all of the Plan B membership.
Please tell all of your friends that the end of the nomination process is near.
Thank you
Joe Guy

I nominate myself because someone has to be asshole enough to nominate themself and our usual assholes aren't doing it so that leaves me.
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

I don't believe the rules allow for stacking all three votes for one person...

Joe, you know how much I hate to say I told you so, (which is really not very much at all
) but a quick count that I did shows that only eight people have voted , whereas last year with the pre-listed names and anonymous voting, it looks like at least 16 people had to have voted (maybe more, since I know some people chose folks not on the list, but I didn't read through the whole thread. You'd get the total number of people who voted by adding up all the votes and dividing by three.) when you look at the totals:

Also, last year you set the voting for a full week:
I suggest that at minimum that you extend the voting period...
Of course that wont do anything about anonymous voting, which could only be remedied by starting over and going back to the old system. Maybe you could do that, and use the votes that have been cast so far as a guide for who to include on the poll list, though people would still of course be free to vote for anyone, whether they are on the list or not.

Rather than the niggardly three and a half days you allowed this time...The poll will run for 7 days.
