BANNON now Bannout

Post by RayThom »

Beware the Law of Unintended Consequences: Or be careful what we wish for.

POTU2 has maintained a record of plausible deniability from day one. If government agencies and Congress can't prove some kind of collusion or heinous misdeed he will become POTUS. I'm not convinced the trade off will have any benefit except to bolster the dreams of alt-right, fundamentalist, christians.

We be screwed until 2020... and only if the registered voters actually get out and vote.

As I said before, I'd even prefer Jimmy Carter over Donald Trump...

(And you know what I think of him...)

The Dems have everything teed up for them in 2018...

The so-called President is already attacking his own party , which will have an enormousness depressive effect on GOP turnout...

Trump is also unbelievably unpopular as a new incumbent President (35% is what you expect under terrible economic circumstances; if there's an economic down-turn, he'll be at 25%)

The only way the Democrats can screw this up, (retaking The House) is if they decide that they are too "precious" to support candidates that aren't "ideologically pure" enough for their tastes...

If they do that they're fucked...

And they'll deserve to be...

I just read somewhere that the average drop off in H of R seats for the governing party at the first mid-term following a presidential election is 28 seats (since the Truman era).

Dems need 24 to retake the House, so no reason why this should not be eminently doable, except for the repeated gerrymandering that the GOP has engaged in the last few redistrictings.
