I know logic is not a big thing among flat-earthers, but:

You can drive east from one side of the North American continent to the other, then board a ship and continue east to Europe (or Africa). Once there, one can continuing traveling east until they reach the Pacific Ocean. Now hop another ship and sail east, past Japan and the Hawaiian Islands, until you hit the beach at Malibu. Repeat ad infinitum.

Where's the edge?

Bill--have you ever tried that? I wouldn't dare. the people who have fall off the edge and are replaced with replicants , almost exact copies with a greater tendency to do their master's (from the underside's) biddings (and often a far right leaning politically); the also contain implanted memories to believe they circled the world, because those same masters get hungry and can catch those who fall off either edge, and prepare feasts according to their To Serve Man cookbook.

Ray--a Mobius strip looks like a good idea, but its single surface gives the alien masters nowhere to hide.

I have trouble with Newton's Laws of Motion. The part that says for action there is an equal and opposite action. So there should be an equal number of apples falling up.

BP--while the apples are falling downward toward the earth is actually falling "upward" toward them; of course this is imperceptible due to the mass differential.

As for "In general, it is true that. . . but we need more money so we can do more studies before we can have a conclusive answer", such is the way of science, where the theory is clarified and corrected by observation and controlled experimentation. Indeed, that is the strength of science as well. And whatever the size of the checkbook, it will never be big enough, as there will always be questions to be answered.

What variety of apple was it? Some apples are harder than others. Did the pope keep the offending apple so the incident could be investigated by the papal police?

If a doctor needed to visited the pope due to the strike they could later make applesauce, or maybe a few turnovers.

There are so many unanswered questions that this mystery may never be solved.
