If Trump wants the NATO countries to contribute their agreed on percentage of GDP to NATO, how does that disrupt NATO?
Wow Darren, that's quite an uhh,
minimalist way to characterize Il Boobce's record for undermining NATO...
Which began with him ignorantly calling the organization "obsolete" during the campaign, and has continued right up to the present with
repeated derisive attacks and threats to withdraw and/or not honor defense commitments in the event of attack...
Putin himself couldn't have written a better script for Trump to follow to undermine NATO than the one he has in fact followed...(Come to think of it, maybe Vlad
did write it...)
No one here has explained to me how Trump trying to limit Germany's import of Russian gas benefits Putin.
Oh, it wouldn't, if that were in fact what Trump was doing with this display, but of course that isn't
at all the reason for this...
Trump doesn't give one small shit about how much natural gas Germany imports from Russia. What we just witnessed was Trump using a technique he has employed
many times before:
Accuse somebody else of doing exactly what
he is guilty of (in this case accusing another foreign leader of being unduly influenced by Russia) in order to try and divert attention away from
his own record...
And when you have an American President whose record includes equating Putin's murder of political opponents with US troops carrying out lawful orders in a war zone, suggesting that Russia's annexation of Crimea could be recognized, fighting tooth and nail against increased sanctions on Russia, trivializing and questioning irrefutably proven Russian efforts to meddle in US elections (in ways that clearly benefited him)...
bragging to the Russian Foreign Minister and US Ambassador to Russia that his firing of the FBI director for vigorously pursuing an investigation into his Russian ties had "taken the pressure off" so he could start to move US policy in directions more to their liking, constantly trying to undermine and derail the the
current investigation into those ties, and being unable to to utter
one single critical or mocking word for Vladimir Putin (this from a President who has had no problem criticizing and mocking everyone from a Gold Star mother to a disabled reporter...)
I'm sure I left a lot out...
There's
no question which national leader is most likely to be "controlled" by Russia...
And here's a hint; it ain't the Chancellor of Germany...
This whole German Russian gas thing, (which Trump suddenly pulled out of his ass this week as something he's supposedly concerned about) is nothing but yet another big rabbit hole designed to divert attention from the 900 lb. gorilla stomping around tearing up the garden...
The only real question about Trump's relationship with Putin and Russia is whether he's an actual RA or "just" a UI...
("Recruited Asset" and "Useful Idiot" for you non
Homeland fans...)
Donald Trump Jr. himself famously said in 2008 that “Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets. We see a lot of money pouring in from Russia.”
Should be old home week for Merkel. I'd like to know who's contributing to her retirement account
I don't think it's
Angela's "retirement account" that needs investigating...
