I VOTED TODAY VIA MAIL-IN BALLOT

I voted a couple of weeks ago. The earlier you get your ballot in, the sooner the junk political mail stops. However, the annoying tv ads and robo-calls are undeterred. Vote by mail works fine. One oddity is that it has reversed the late voting trend. In prior years, the last votes counted were absentee mail-ins and these trended toward R. With all vote by mail, the early votes trend R and the last minute drop-offs trend D. All the early mail-in votes are the first counted and the late drop-offs are the last counted. This dynamic has made for some unhappy elephant parties.

I don't worry so much that people are being duped by Trump; I worry that they know full well he's full of shit about a lot of the stuff he says and promises, but that they are so mean-spirited they want to keep him because he hurts so many people.

I won't sleep tonight - and depending on the results, I might not sleep well for many nights to come . . .
