That's because the folks on this board are, for the most part, head and shoulders above the average American voter. The dolts getting elected to Congress in recent years are reflective of the voting populace's willingness to be swayed by base emotion rather than higher order reasoning.
For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.

Many times the choice is between two dolts. A lose-lose proposition. I usually write my own name in when faced with that choice. oldr_n_wsr for president?
