I'm sure it rivals the Griswald's there, Jim.
Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

You're not the first person to make that comparison....dales wrote:I'm sure it rivals the Griswald's there, Jim.
When it comes to the Christmas tree, yes I am in fact, a real life Clark Griswald....

You can't claim "magnificent" and then not share photos ....

The Rockefeller tree doesn't have tinsel.
A buddy of mine puts the lights on that tree.

We celebrate both Hanukkah (within our family) and Christmas (with my in-laws). For Christmas, we participate in a gift exchange, and I have already picked out the present for my secret giftee--a set of Cards Against Humanity, together with the two available additional sets of cards. I've purchased a few things for members of the family--there is a local company that makes wallets designed to protect RF readers from picking sensitive data off of your credit cards, and I've bought those for the kids (and for myself). I have another couple of the "extra" Cards Against Humanity sets for the son who already owns the game. Still thinking about other gifts. I usually confer with GrossMom about what she'd like to get.
Be excellent to each other--and, party on, dudes!

Allyou need for anti-reader is some antistatac bag material. Being in electronics, we throw more of that stuff out daily than the amount of wallets that get sold. Maybe I should "dumpster dive" and make and sell wallet "inserts" that would achieve the same result.
BLING BLING another good idea.
Thanks

Bah, humbug.
They did outdoor decorating Thanksgiving weekend, and I think my mother is putting up thee tree next weekend. For that, my stepfather needs my help.
(Putting up the tree requires moving a large sofa, which requires two people with properly-functioning shoulders.)

Christmas here.... no family, no friends - they're all off to the coast (mostly Kynysna, George, Mossel Baie). The kids of Bolokanang will all be gone to "holiday" parents (usually members of their own extended families) until January 7. Most have already gone - only six left.
We'll end up staying at the house of absent friends to mind their two dogs, two cats and one parrot - also to deter the kind of house-robbers who broke in the last time they were away in June. No tree, no decorations, no presents either - can't decide if we are cheap or lazy or simply jaded (new word).
I arranged the Carol Service at St John's last Sunday evening and will be preaching on December 30. Seems like we'll take some turns at the Towers of Hope soup kitchen for the street people. On the other hand, we have to avoid downtown Bloem from December 15 to 22 - covering the period of the ANC "we put the con in conference" trough distribution. Bah humbug

ed: "simply jaded (new word)" - see, that's a very careless amendment upon preview. I had a totally different made-up word in there and changed it to 'jaded' without deleting the parenthetical comment. Let this be a warning to all.

For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

Going to get the Christmas tree this weekend. I'm thinking of buying an extra as one of the days I am going back to Mastic Beach to help clean out a home or two. Maybe if I bring a tree, some family can have little Christmas cheer.
And where the F%^& is FEMA? They kept saying they were going to bring in mobile homes for these people to set up on their property while things get cleaned up and fixed. I have only seen one mobile home in the area and that was supplied by the homeowners insurance carrier. It's been 6 weeks already. I don't expect FEMA to be there day one (or even day 7), but here is a need and here is a solution and yet they are still not here.
Anyone need some soggy sheetrock?
