Re: Name That Movie!
Okay, I guess this isn't as easy as I thought it was...
Here's a longer quote:
Here's a longer quote:
In case you couldn't tell from that, it's sci-fi flick...(sci-fi action movie to be more precise...)A: Humans are odd. They think order and chaos are somehow opposites and try to control what won't be. But there is grace in their failings. I think you missed that.
B: They're doomed!
A: Yes... but a thing isn't beautiful because it lasts. It is a privilege to be among them.
B: You're unbelievably naïve.
A: Well, I was born yesterday.

Re: Name That Movie!
This is a movie I hate to admit I saw (I usually avoid this sort of film like the plague, but a friend of mine won tickets in some internet contest and invited me)--if no one gets it later today I will take it, but Jim, perhaps a hint could help? For anyone who has read my comments on movies, my first comment is also a clue.
Re: Name That Movie!
Well, I do like movies like this...
I took my kids to see it when it came out a couple of years ago and the lad and I re-watched it a couple of weeks ago on a rainy weekend...
I particularly liked the villain...(the casting for that role was truly inspired; I'm a big fan of the actor who played the part.) he pretty much stole the show...

Re: Name That Movie!
Do you like them because you have kids (I've seen a lot of movies I otherwise wouldn't have when my kids were young), or because you enjoy this genre? Personally, I think it's made primarily for preteen and teenage boys, but I know a lot of adults who love these films. To each his or her own.
Re: Name That Movie!
I've always liked these types of movies, (I'd see them even if I didn't have kids...can't say the same about all the Disney/Pixar movies I've seen ) but I also like that they like them too, so we can enjoy seeing them together...

Re: Name That Movie!
Well I agree with you on most of the Disney/Pixar movies, and I have a serious dislike of Pixar CGI animated movies because at least I could appreciate some of the hand drawn animation before, and I blame this animation for supplanting it.
With regard to this movie, if our discussion doesn't prompt the correct response, perhaps no clues will.

I don't know it but I am guessing:
When Mars Attacks?
or and oldie but goodie
Das Boot.

Re: Name That Movie!
Well in the absence of more guesses, I think it is Avengers, Age of Ultron.
It was the Frisbee quote that gave it to me--my favorite joke from the movie (it was referring to Captain America's shield which is made of some made up material).

Re: Name That Movie!
Yes, it's:

And just for oldr...(even though he didn't vote for me in the PBPOTY contest...)
"Avengers Age Of Ultron"...
I'm a big fan of James Spader, (especially from his performances as Alan Shore in Boston Legal and Raymond Reddington in The Blacklist...)
I really like the dry, deadpan sarcasm that he delivers in the roles he plays ...
The "Ultron" character had the "Spader persona" down to such a tee that it even used Spader's signature head nodding when he's making a point...

Re: Name That Movie!
So a new one--a bit older but a lot of fun:
Man has climbed Mount Everest, gone to the bottom of the ocean. He's fired rockets at the Moon, split the atom, achieved miracles in every field of human endeavor... except crime!

Congratulations Ray...
Of all the wrong answers you've given, that may be the wrongest of all...
This is one of those movies that I would be tempted to confidently assert that everyone here has seen, but I've been burned on that too many times to make that claim...

Re: Name That Movie!
I think I've seen it but I have no idea what it is.
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.
Re: Name That Movie!
If I know my Ray clues it has Christoper Walken in it.

Thank you, kind sir. And an auric digit to you, too.Lord Jim wrote:Congratulations Ray...
