Roy Barnes won a Profiles in Courage award from the JFK Library after he used his term as Governor to try to change the flag of Georgia to remove the confederate symbology that was added in 1956 in response to Brown v. Board. He failed, and lost the election and ended his political career because of it. https://www.barneslawgroup.com/blog/tur ... was-right/
A truly decent person in politics - rare indeed! Married to his wife for 53+ years so maybe not so gay, but who really knows?

For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.

In case anybody is out of the loop on who this guy is and why he was doxxed: https://www.yahoo.com/news/nick-fuentes ... 00632.html
I also read online yesterday that he's fled to his mommy's house after being doxxed online. That's fitting. He doesn't think women should be allowed to vote, but he runs to one for protection when in his time of need.

That is the funniest thing I have seen in a while. But seriously, shouldn't we at least be carpooling?
GAH!

I really think Stormy Daniels should try for a career as a writer. I hope she got paid for that one liner above. It is far better than "I knew Jack Kennedy, and you're no Jack Kennedy."

I may have seen the original of that Ikea sign, at the women's march in Columbia MO on Jan 20, 2017 - the day before Trump's first inauguration. We lived there at the time and Columbia - home of the University of Missouri - is a little blue island in the middle of a very red state. We were at the speeches after the march and I said to my wife - there's a sign down there about Ikea but it's too far away for me to read the rest of it. A woman sitting by us heard me and told me what I said. This of course was after Trump had told us that his Cabinet would be filled with the smartest people. I and everyone around thought that was hilarious.
A day or two after there was a NYT (IIRC) piece about the signs at the women's marches held around the country. And it pictured the Columbia sign: maybe whoever made it had copied it from elsewhere, but I am pretty sure that was the original.

A tweet from President Macron to Trump:
I think that's some boss trolling from Macron.Congratulations, President @realDonaldTrump. Ready to work together as we did for four years. With your convictions and mine. With respect and ambition. For more peace and prosperity.

I was surprised to see Betty Bowers commenting on a consumer product, with no reference to anything biblical, perhaps something about the land of milk and honey? It has been a while since I checked her always 'on point' observations.

There's a nice quote by poet laureate Robert Frost wherein he says everything he's learned about life is that it goes on.
I also have learned that about life, and one another fundamental truth: people are stupid.
