It's the other way around (at least as far as who fired first). Scooter is right in that he was directly accused of something he didn't say. Scooter just wasn't being direct about it.

wesw responds to things others have not said, pretends they have said them and when caught refuses to admit it. TPFKA@W does the same thing but not as frequently.


I don't think either will change although it makes them less interesting.

Rube claims to not to have said things he said, (even when links are produced) tries to substitute new statements for things he said and pretend that they mean the same thing, and claims other people have lied about what they themselves have said even when he quotes them saying those exact things, and when caught refuses to admit to any of these things.

I don't think he will change, but it doesn't make him any less hilarious.

Since you finally spit out what it was that got your panties twisted, after I asked you at least three times, I'll give you the explanation that you could have received without the antagonism you eventually brought down on yourself, if only you had the sense God gave a turnip and ASKED me what I meant by those comments, rather than inventing your own interpretation and stewing over it.

I used the term "Neanderthals" in a thread about same-sex marriage. Did the possibility enter what passes for your brain that I was referring to those who had opposed same-sex marriage? No, of course not. I was obviously talking about Southerners, because the Mount Everest sized chip you are carrying around on your shoulder decided that must be the truth.

The other comment I admit was less clear to someone who does not have the history which many of us share. Someone made a joke about Joe Guy and Steve getting married. Steve is a complete nutter who a lot of us knew through another discussion board. Joe Guy and Steve had an acrimonious relationship, hence the joke someone made about them getting married. At one time, Steve threatened to track Joe Guy down and re-enact the rape scene from Deliverance. So I followed up the previous joke by alluding to the character from that movie whom Steve threatened to imitate.

You see, simple explanations that bear no resemblance to what you accused me of. All you had to do was ask.

As to the subsequent comment to which you took offence - there is a lot of stuff I will let pass when it comes from anonymous strangers on the internet. But I don't take kindly to having words put in my mouth, nor do I stand for being called a liar, even in the backhanded and condescending you did it. Well, if you're going to descend into that sort of name calling, then you will get it back ten times over, and as I said, I will never apologize for that. Even after being asked twice to justify your accusation, you chose to double down rather that identify the comments that led you to make it. So I made the syphilis comment, because it became evident that you had a complete disregard of the truth of the accusation you had made against me.

There have now been at least four posters, in a little over a month since you joined, whom you have accused of saying things which they did not: two because you confused them with someone else, and two because of your warped interpretation of their words. Did it ever occur to you that four people making the same complaint about you might indicate a pattern of behaviour that needs to be fixed?

Don’t let him bother you; he has a limited view of the world; to him it is always simple and Southerner are bigots. Self interest is bigotry. He has a mean streak which hard for me to understand; perhaps he was assaulted by someone he considers a Southerner or a red neck. I have been treated badly during my life but I did not in turn hate groups of people. At any rate, I figure the best thing I can do for my soul is to keep my distance. I would advise the same for you.
