Sounds like Alan Arkin in Little Miss Sunshine. Can't believe that one has not been done yet.

No, and no.
D: You haven't seen any snowy egrets around here, have you?
A: No.
D: Me either. Not that I'd know a snowy egret if I were pissing on one. You want some lunch?
A: I think it's a little late in the season.
D: For lunch?
A: No, pissing on birds.

Well, I said I'd take it Monday--Witches of Eastwick.

On a side note I got my next movie if I can ever figure our one of these clues
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.
PLEASE... Name That Movie!

Yes. Finally.

OK, a new one--I'd bet most people have seen this:
We train young men to drop fire on people, but their commanders won't allow them to write "fuck" on their airplanes because it's obscene!
Re: Name That Movie!
Yes I've seen it can't place it tho.

Even with a clue, I had no clue. But on the upside, I realize after looking it up I drank to the director last night.

One of my favorite movies, and I saw it the first time on AMC back in the '90s. They showed it commercial-free and uncut, which was way out of their normal league then.

Damn! And I definitely had this one. Sgt. Major Dickerson was one bad ass movie character.
Oh, well, I'll just have to do better next time.
Bring it on.

Datsun as I recall, when AMC started, (and for a number of years thereafter; into the 90s) AMC was commercial free...I saw it the first time on AMC back in the '90s. They showed it commercial-free and uncut, which was way out of their normal league then.
So was Bravo...

Re: Name That Movie!
You're right, I confused it with TBS; they chopped movies to bits. I didn't watch AMC much, my sister did, lots of Cary Grant and Betty Grable movies. But it was AMC that played it- I recall there were commercials before and after. It was entirely happenstance that I watched it- I was channel surfing after watching something I regularly watched, and caught that it was coming up. The fact that it was an R-rated film being played uncut on a non-premium channel in primetime was a little unusual for the time, and warnings were shown before it started.

And BSG has it. Over to you.
Jim and Datsun--I think AMC started with commercials in the late 90s, it also gave up on a lot of the older films (TCM filled that void) and began broadcasting more contemporary films.
and for anyone who likes this film, I also recommend seeing Apocalypse Now Redux, which adds about an hour of trimmed scenes. Some are better than others, but all still have that some foreboding tome of the film--worth checking out.
