Just because Dales made a yucky choice does not mean this thread has gone flat line.

I haven't been up for a while, so I'll take you up on your offer, dales.
Teacher:  We are all going to observe certain courtesies in this classroom.  You will call me "sir" or "(name)".  The young ladies will be addressed as "Miss", the boys by their surnames.
Student:  Yeah, why should we call 'em "Miss"?  We know 'em.
T:  I beg your pardon?
S:  I said, why should we call 'em "Miss", sir?  We know 'em.
T:  Is there any one of these young ladies you feel does not deserve to be addressed as "Miss"?
S (waits a few seconds, then responds):  No, sir.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

BSG has it.  And just to interpret Ray's clues — British pop singer Lulu had her sole American hit with her rendition of the movie's title theme; she also had a minor role as one of the students.  Pamela Dare (played by Judy Geeson) was the name of the main female student character.

Interesting bit of trivia; thirty years later, Sidney Poitier reprised his role as teacher Mark Thackeray in a 1996 made-for-TV sequel entitled "To Sir With Love 2".  From IMDb — "After thirty years teaching in London, Mark Thackeray retires and returns to Chicago.  There, however, the challenge of reaching kids in an inner city school proves too much to resist."

Look, I've got a gun out there in my purse. And until now, I've been forgiving and forgetting because of the way I was brought up. But I tell you this: If you ever say another word about me or make another indecent proposal, I'm gonna get that gun of mine... And I'm gonna change you from a bishop to a rabbi with one shot!

This one could be difficult, maybe even for our resident cinefiles. From the 1970s
