I hope you're not saying that you get paid to write. At least not paid to write in English...

Not exactly get paid to write, I get paid to fix the equipment, but when I finish a service call the company wants me to explain in writing what I did in some detail. It is technical writing so I reckon you could consider that English. I am sure Older being an engineer is familiar with it. I have looked at the comments of my team members their comments are similar to mine.
