Your very first post. You attacked President Obama for daring to call himself an African American. Which involved making up an utterly ignorant definition of what you think is required to call yourself an African-American.
But go ahead. Call me stupid again. That's your only defense here. You can not refute what I said in any way, so you'll continue to respond with Ad Hominem attacks.
Presidential Pretender
Re: Presidential Pretender
Mr. Reaper:
You raised the issue of "skin color." Skin is that wrapping thing that covers peoples' bodies? The thing that gets burned first when you touch something hot? Color refers to the tint of a person's skin, and ranges (in the absence of pathology) from pinkish white to dark, dark brown. I have not raised the issue of Barry's skin color. At all.
I believe I did note in one post here (or maybe it was on another thread) that there is a range of skin colors within a given race, and, for example, many people who are caucasian have darker skin color than many people who consider themselves "African Americans." But that has nothing to do with the main discussion.
When you said that I started the thread to attack the President's skin color. You were not only incorrect, but it was an incorrigibly stupid thing to write.
Going further, you have not clearly articulated what I believe you really meant to say, which is that I would not have raised the issue (or any analogous issue) if Barry were white.
But even this is not the case. I object to politicians pretending to be of a certain ethnicity (John Kerry ain't Irish), pretending to be related to someone famous (as often happens with politicians having the same surname), and politicians claiming or pretending to be religious (WJC). I don't like phonies.
President Obama's national political career was propelled by one overriding fact: He was perceived as an "African American" - someone who either personally or through his ancestors had risen up from slavery to Harvard Law (so to speak). No "White" senator with his dearth of experience, and his extreme Liberal history, could ever be elected in this country. Period.
And if he were actually from Chicago, the son of an African American, rather than a Kenyan, it would have made a better story line, and this whole ridiculous thread would not even exist.

He is right; check out the African American Forum on Topix.dgs49 wrote:?
I have given examples of people who are of BLACK African ethnicity whom "African Americans" generally do not consider to be within their community. Native Kenyans, etc., who typically show up on university campuses. I have overheard these specific conversations among "Blacks" many times. And even the popular culture recognizes that "African Americans" do not consider immigrant Haitians or Jamaicans to be within their community.

Soon, I’ll post my farewell message. The end is starting to get close. There are many misconceptions about me, and before I go, to live with my ancestors on the steppes, I want to set the record straight.

The only reason this thread exists is because of his skin color.dgs49 wrote:You raised the issue of "skin color." Skin is that wrapping thing that covers peoples' bodies? Nothing to do with it, but you keep bringing it up. Nice little smoke and mirrors to detract from the argument.dgs49 wrote:I believe I did note in one post here (or maybe it was on another thread) that there is a range of skin colors within a given race, and, for example, many people who are caucasian have darker skin color than many people who consider themselves "African Americans." Go ahead. Keep calling me stupid. It's amusing to know that you're so limited that you have to keep resorting to name calling.
I have articulated that quite clearly.dgs49 wrote:Going further, you have not clearly articulated what I believe you really meant to say, which is that I would not have raised the issue (or any analogous issue) if Barry were white.
Yet Republican phonies get a free pass from you. Puts a damper on your "don't like phonies" policy.dgs49 wrote:But even this is not the case. Right. Just opinionated horseshit. His ancestry was never hidden away and you're not some grand sleuth who discovered what no one else could.dgs49 wrote:President Obama's national political career was propelled by one overriding fact: He was perceived as an "African American" - someone who either personally or through his ancestors had risen up from slavery to Harvard Law (so to speak). You'd just find some other way to be equally offensive.dgs49 wrote:And if he were actually from Chicago, the son of an African American, rather than a Kenyan, it would have made a better story line, and this whole ridiculous thread would not even exist.
