Re: Anybody Followng The NFL Playoffs?
Now that the dammed thing is over with NE pulling off an upset..........I can finally say WGAF?

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

Yes, very much so...Feels a lot like the wee hours of November 9, doesn't it?

Re: Anybody Followng The NFL Playoffs?
Every New England Super Bowl in this era has been an extremely close game. Feel bad for Falcon fans, but this is kind of their thing.
Re: Anybody Followng The NFL Playoffs?
Which is why my opinion of Tom Brady remains unchanged...What a good life lesson. Never ever give up.

First Brexit wins, then Trump wins, now the Patriots win.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

True Patriots, all!

Word has it that Putin may have influenced the outcome of the game. Trump was asked about it and he said, "Our referees aren't so innocent."

Is it over already? Didn't make a ripple here
I suppose you were all waiting to find out about the AFCON.... well, underdogs Cameroon beat Egypt 2-1 to lift the trophy. Great game.

For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

In retrospect Meade, I wish I'd watched that game instead....

When you have the ball for less than 24 minutes, your defense is going to be hammered/tired/done by the end of the game. And then what happened, happens.
Much as I hate the Pats, they pulled off a monumental achievement. No denying that. And Brady with his 5 SB rings (in 7 tries) should be ranked among the best if not THE best QB's of all time regardless of his attitudes and political affiliation.
When watching football, I don't care about the players political views, same as don't care about actors nor musicians political views.
How well they play the game, the character or the instrument is all I care about.
I don't like that Patriots because their coach should have been the Jets coach and the pats consistently win, consistently are in the playoffs and consistently go deep into the playoffs.
They are the opposite of the Jets.

You missed a tremendous catch by our former Kent State QB, whom I recall you were rather fond of at one point.MajGenl.Meade wrote:Is it over already? Didn't make a ripple here

Re: Anybody Followng The NFL Playoffs?
When the game started , I was prepared for the Patriots to win; in fact I expected that they probably would...
I thought there was a good chance that they might jump out to an early lead, and I'd start just watching the game part time...
I really feel sorry for the Falcons and their fans...That was not only the greatest choke job in the 51 Super Bowls, it was probably one of the worst chokes in a championship game for any sport in the history of professional sports...
That's going to take a while to live down...
I'll bet that by the end of that game you could have walked through just about any neighborhood in Atlanta and heard a pin drop...
The sudden and complete collapse of the team in the last few minutes when I'm sure they thought they had it in the bag, was no doubt an even a bigger shock to their fans than it was to me...

Re: Anybody Followng The NFL Playoffs?
The greatest choke of all time belongs to the New York Yankees, 2004, ALCS. Up 3 games to none, and 4-3 in the bottom of the 9th with one of the greatest closers of all time on the mound in Mariano Rivera. But we all know how that turned out....Lord Jim wrote:

I feel empathy for the Falcons and their fans, too, having lived through crushing defeats before. But they have an excellent team, Matty Ryan has the potential to be great, and I expect they will be back in the Superbowl soon.

Re: Anybody Followng The NFL Playoffs?
I spoke at a meeting from 7-8 figuring I would be home for the second half. I did make the second half. Heard it was 21-3 but didn't catch it was atlanta on top. Radio reception sucked where I was (Shoreham NY). Was glad to see it was atlanta when I got home then they go and make it 28 and I figure it's their game to lose. And they did. Going backwards from being field goal position after that great sideline catch was devastating, although Brady and hte pats might have overcome that too.
I heard a Belichick comment about winning yesterday, something like "now we are 5 weeks behind the other teams in terms of getting ready for next season".
Attitude like that is why they always are in position to win.
