You know your roommate is in for the long haul, when the rent check she writes you, has your address printed on it. 8-)

I'm not surprised Gen'l....

That's a complex piece of machinery for a man, you shouldn't have attempted to use it without your wife's assistance... 8-)

Every conference room at my firm is booked today, the copy machines are running 24/7, and the phones are ringing off the hook. After the slowest year EVER last year (more peaks and valleys than typical, and much lower valleys), this is really really good to see! I hope its a sign of things to come for everyone!! :ok

I've gone most of my career having to talk to someone elses lawyer only once a year.

This year it's been almost once a month.

Double plus ungood...

I'd say you've got a good point there Sue....

If all you need to stay employed is for people to continue to do stupid things, then you're in a line of work with employment security second only to the the funeral home business.....

Pretty much recession proof....

Nope and I never said that. I'm a litigator, but my firm does a whole lot more than litigation. We provide a advice and consulting to public (cities and towns) and private (for-profit and non-profit) entities of every possible matter under the sun, sometimes even insurance companies ( we do a huge amount of public contracting and bidding work, and we negotate with public and private sector unions. We represent people and entities in all types of proceedings -- from federal court, to an unemployment benefits hearing, to a hearing about what types of services your developmentally delayed child receives from your school district, to advising towns in annual town meetings, or advising boards and commissions about decisions they want to make regarding applications pending before them. We do commercial (and some individual) real estate closings, and negotiate all sorts of asset acquisitions. I'm one of the few here who are in court regularly, although many of us are in court (or in front of some administrative tribunal) at some point or another.

My point was that we are busier when the economy is better, and I'm hoping that it is better for everyone. Sheesh.

Please tell that to the azzhat attorney who tried to sandbag me today in front of the judge. Thank goodness the court didn't buy into his schtick, and is going to make him go through the proper process and procedure. So yes, its true. We have rules. We have process. We have ethical standards. We have rules of conduct. We cross intellectual swords, but call each other brother and sister. Show me some other business or profession which requires the same of its members.

Brother azzhat, that is. ;)
