I heard the Dumpster on Morning Joe this morning bragging about all the new people he is attracting to the party....(some of whom, as I pointed out earlier, we would probably be better off without)

What he doesn't mention of course, are all the millions upon millions of reliably Republican voters who absolutely positively will never ever vote for him...(like yours truly)

For every voter he brings in the door, two walk out....

I have wondered about the proportion of " mischief makers" voting in the republican primaries.

That's certainly part of the increase...

Another part are well meaning but badly misguided people who have been so turned off by traditional politicians that they haven't been participating in the process, who have now fallen for his con job....

And another part are racists and xenophobes who haven't previously had a "mainstream" candidate who reflected their ignorant prejudices sufficiently to get them to vote...

I wonder how big tho. Usually you hear talk about this type of mischief. I've not heard any. Clearly this is anecdotal but I wonder if it's either not happening as much (as most onl lined to do this sort of thing are scared of the ramifications of Trump) or they've gone underground with "recruiting" efforts to do so.

It was an excellent speech...(though of course Romney may not be the greatest messenger...)



Romney was pretty effusive in his praise of Trump when he got his endorsement back in 2012, but as Romney has said that was before he started dumping all the toxic garbage he has spewed into the nominating process. It probably would have been best if he had mentioned this in his speech today.

However, just taking the words on their own, this speech is one of the best and most comprehensive analysis of Trump, his record, and what he represents that has been offered up thus far.

It won't wake up the hardcore Trumpanzees, (You can see wes' sarcastic response) no amount of factual information about their hero can do that. Afterall, if they could be moved by facts, they wouldn't be Trumpanzees.

But it may have some impact on those who have been considering Trump but aren't firmly committed, and have been unaware of his whole story.
