I'm shocked and very saddened by this loss; she taught me a lot about politics in America, I watched Washington Week faithfully for years. A huge loss to responsible journalism. RIP
How sad. I would watch Gwen Ifill daily on PBS NewsHour. I think she had been missing for a week or so but I never thought it was due to a grave illness -- she always seemed healthy and robust. However, I now understand why John Yang was getting more and more air time over the last few months. Ifill was obviously in exit mode.
I will miss her. RIP, Gwen.
“In a world whose absurdity appears to be so impenetrable, we simply must reach a greater degree of understanding among us, a greater sincerity.”
I was so saddened to hear this earlier today. I had no idea she was ill. I watched the News Hour tonight and of course they celebrated her life. To me she was (to my shame, I suppose) part of the furniture. One part of my life which was sorted - if I wanted to hear what was going on in the world without spin I turned to Gwen Ifill. Luckily she was there and she would always be there.
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts
