President Trump's approval rating has dropped to 37 percent, its lowest point yet, according to Gallup's daily tracking poll. In the same survey, 58 percent of people said they disapprove of the the president's performance.
This is a deep hole to for a president to be in so early in his first term.
Public perception of every president varies over time, of course. But
I watched the hearings for about three hours. Very few questions that the FBI or NSA guy could answer without being very fuzzy. Most of the Congress critters seemed to be presenting questions that were beyond the purview of these two managers and just intended to make an emotional support or attack on Trump.
Not very informative. But I did like the young guy from California who read official jury instructions about one lie meant you should ignore all the testimony of a witness, then followed up with a quote from Trump that was clearly not the truth. The FBI director just smiled quietly and did not respond beyond ,"Yes, I remember those instructions."
I watched the hearing (Comey and Rogers) first on CNBC then on CNN. Was entirely frustrated by the commenters who presumably thought that they had to show why they had been brought on board and constantly yakked over the proceedings. Eventually turned to Fox News which, to give them their due, allowed the hearing to speak for itself. Please don't tell anyone I said nice things about Fox News.
I listened on NPR in the car, and the only cut ins were to identify the speakers. When I got to the office, NPR.org had a live stream I watched/listened to that. No commentary at all. The only problem was they only had cameras in the witnesses, so you couldn't see or always identify the questioner.

I had MSNBC on for most of it, and surprisingly they didn't have their talking heads butting in during the testimony (If they had, I'd have switched to C-Span)
