I Got My DNA Ancestry Results and Now I'm Mad at My Mother

Post by Joe Guy »

I received an Ancestry DNA kit as a gift and received the results yesterday. They give you a breakdown of your "Ethnicity Estimate" and then they show people who have also registered with Ancestry.Com that you share enough DNA characteristics that they say are "Conclusive" enough to make you at least a 1st or 2nd cousin.

The first person on the list of likely relatives has the last name of MY FATHER'S BEST FRIEND!! He was my father's friend from high school until the day my father died!! He was so close to me that I called him "Uncle"!!!

Ancestry.com has turned my life upside down. I wanna sue somebody!!... 8-)

How fortunate you are. After all, a young man can never have enough fathers in his life.

I think you need to have a serious talk with "Uncle" Larry. You might hit the trifecta -- is he rich?

Are you descended from those that inhabited the Eurasian plains?

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

Well mine did and what does it matter if some of my ancestors may have come from the Middle East. They live on the steppes before they lived in the Middle East. They had to come from the steppes no other theory makes any sense.

I would much rather identify with the Steppes than Western Europe. On the steppes my ancestors were free warriors and mounted hunters riding ponies and chariots across the steppes with the wind blowing in their blond hair as they hunted aurochs and bison.

Whereas in Western Europe, they were poor pitiful peasants raped and brutalized by Meade’s ancestors. I think Meade owes me reparations.
Soon, I’ll post my farewell message. The end is starting to get close. There are many misconceptions about me, and before I go, to live with my ancestors on the steppes, I want to set the record straight.

Unfortunately, both of my alleged fathers have moved on to the great beyond. Also, Uncle Judas wasn't wealthy. He just acted like it.

btw - my highest ethnicity estimate is "36% Great Britain" and I don't know which family member(s) that came from.

I'm also 3% "Africa North", which explains why I've always felt slightly oppressed.

According to the North African posters I know North Africans are long nosed hairy Caucasians. Most of the current black population are recent immigrates.

According to Ancestry.com, Africa North includes "primarily" Morocco, Western Sahara, Algeria and Libya.

My father was in the Royal Navy. ;)

Well, thank God for that lib...

Because if they didn't come from the steppes, that Mid Eastern DNA marker could mean that you had some of them there swarthy camel jockey types in your family tree... :o

Jim, are you trying to insult my Caucasian cousins? What does it matter if camels are part of their culture mules were once part of my couture. And, besides cultures change.

And trues Arabs do tend to have somewhat darker skin, but that is no big deal either. Of the three races Caucasians have the most variation in skin color. You should see some of my family they are almost as dark.

Probably not for you. I bet you've handled many an erectus on a binge weekend. Of course, I could be wrong.

I was looking at a 1964 LA Times article today and the headline read that USC had beat the Stanford Indians, but used that term; it was a "yikes" slap to the sensibilities.
